I have some bad and strange news.
coming soon reports that anchorman will be rated r for some sex releated humor. This really sucks. i really thought it was going to be rated pg13. Dreamworks will probally change the rating though to make more money at the boxoffice.

Yeah, it got the R rating, but Dreamworks is filing an appeal for a PG-13. So don't worry.
Fifty First Dates was also originally rated R due to all of the wet dreams jokes. Columbia did the same thing and got it down to a PG-13

Judging by your avatar, I'd have have to say that you think Ghostbusters is funny. And it's rated PG -13.

Isn't it PG? Although this would help your cause more, it would make me right.

I think it is...
I dunno. Point is, it's a great comedy and it's not rated R.

While I definitely don't think this is always true, I am sure that we would be a lot more likely to see boobies in an R comedy than a PG-13 Comedy. The Whole 9 Yards was R and decent, Whole 10 Yards was PG-13 and god-awful. W9Y had Peet's boobies, W10Y did not.
As an 18 year old college student who thinks almost entirely with his crotch, this is a very important issue for me. If I have a choice between a movie being R or PG-13, I'll take the R.

Uh, have you never heard of Johnson Family Vacation?!!!!!!
I'm pretty sure this will get lowered down to a PG-13 rating with Will Ferrells massive success he's having now.

I don't see anything on the official webpage for the movie, there's nothing on the MPAA rating site. So I'm sure they're definitely going to appeal it.

God the MPAA sucks, this film will probably be given a PG rating here in Ontario. What decade is the MPAA living in, the 50's.

They've made themselves the bitch of the religious right. Like the South Park movie pointed out, gratuitous violence is totally okay for a pg13, but drop more than one F-Bomb or crack jokes about the evil s-e-x, and you get an R slapped on the ass.

Not all PG-13 comedies are bad, but I have a feeling this movie was made to be an R, and should stay an R.

You're overlooking the real tragedy of this news , that Sandler is coming out with another freakin lame ass film , not the rating .

Yes, but it should only be rated R if the content deserves it. And No, having more then two "F" words in a film should not get a film an R, nether should some sex related jokes unless they're like really explicit or gross. The MPAA needs to take a book from other countries rating systems and they'll see that they are way to fuckin' strict. At least when it comes to foul langauge, sexual content and nudity.

Anchorman is NOT rated R anymore. I just checked out imeonline.com/newsandspecials.asp and it says: Anchorman (DW) PG-13 for sexual humor, language and comic violence. (Re-rated. Film edited.)

I guess the appeal failed. I wonder what had to be cut out. We'll probably see what it was on DVD though.
