from The Jet Lee (Li) Homepage
Yahoo! reports that the title for Jet Li's upcoming movie Danny the Dog, has been scrapped. Last year, Jet's official website had run a survey asking fans to suggest titles for the movie, and it appears that the title has now been indeed scrapped. I guess this is the reason we haven't seen any trailers yet.

In another note, Yahoo! is also reporting that Focus Features has picked this movie up to be one of the wide releases for their new "Rogue Pictures" label which will focus on action and horror movies.

As reported yesterday, Focus Features has picked up Danny the Dog as one of the wide releases of their new Rogue Pictures label. The Hollywood Reporter now reports that Rogue Pictures plans to release the movie in early 2005. If this is true, then 2004 will mark the first year Jet didn't have any movie released since he starred in Romeo Must Die on 2000. This is of course, considering Hero as a 2002 release, and not 2004.

Well, at least it's moving forward though I wish it was coming out this year...but still, this is very good news. 1. A new title is DEFINITELY needed (and thank god they're changing it), and 2. FOCUS features is my favorite new studio, which makes me excited that they've picked Danny the Dog up - it gives me faith that the movie has to be at least decent, if not good...

Consider some of FOCUS FEATURES past movies...i mean, they've had some shite (which I have not seen), but far less than other studios, and they've had some AMAZING films...
Gosford Park (7/10)
The Pianist (10/10)
Eternal Sunshine (10/10)
Far From Heaven (8/10)
21 Grams (8/10)
Lost in Translation (7/10)
Traffic (10/10)
The Man Who Wasn't There (8/10)

and some that i haven't seen but am interested in: The Kid Stays in the Picture, In the Mood for Love, Monsoon Wedding, Swimming Pool, Session 9, 8 Women among others...

so this is great news!

Sometimes Focus picks up really mainstream movies. Not often do they, but they do. For example, I believed they distributed "Deliver Us From Eva". I still love Focus to death, but just to warn ya. :)
