Wow. The Defender is going to be directed by and starring Dolph Lundgren (Rocky IV, Showdown in Little Tokyo, The Punisher). It will also star Jerry Springer as.... THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STAES.

Here is the plot:

Lundgren plays "a bodyguard, head of the security team of the National Security Adviser to the president of the Unites States. His boss, Dr. Roberta Jones is sent on a mission from the U.S. to attend a peace conference in Bucharest, Romania in support of the President's Peace Initiative. It turns out his boss is not going to the conference, but to a secret meeting with a person whose identity is unknown to everybody elese, including the bodyguard. A meeting which is never supposed to have taken place. What occurs during the meeting is the ultimate nightmare for a bodyguard. His boss disappears. He has to find her, figure out who the mystery guest was, and who was behind her disappearance. While under fire from a group of unknown attackers, and while trying to keep his men alive." (as told by Dolph on his website)

Don't forget Michael Paré!

Nah, he's too good for this; I have a feeling that Dolph Lundgren / Jerry Springer won't be the next Robert DeNiro / Martin Scorsese of the this generation.

I don't use the word 'Hero' lightly, but Dolph Lundgren is the greatest hero in American film history.

This is so unusual that I think it might just rock.

Dolph Lundgren directing.
Dolph Lundgren acting.
Jerry Springer as the President of the United States (could be...after Dubya, who knows?).

I think we got ourselves a cult classic like they don't do 'em no more, folks. :)

I wanna be on set when springer and dolph have a dispute and dolph picks springer up by the throat, throws him to the ground and shouts in russian to the crew "I direct to win, for me!...for me!"

Dolph (the greatest name ever) is directing a film???? WOW! That is the best news I've heard all week (right after the one about Mandy Moore breaking up with her boyfriend). I'll see it; just to support the Dolph machine and hopefully to have a BLAST!

GO DOLPHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

This movie screams potential 10/10. Dolph Ludgren and Jerry Springer. Throw in Steven Segal and it will be the greatest movie of all time.
