Pierce Brosnan is widely held to be the best Bond since Connery but in my view he's most definitely the worst incarnation to date.

Granted he's been lumbered with some almighty clunkers (Goldeneye aside) in the script stakes but his portrayal of 007 leaves much to be desired.

All of the previous Bonds (even Lazenby) managed to stamp their own personality on the part but Brosnan always comes across as a bizarre amalgam of Connery & Moore combined. A vodka Martini shaken not stirred if you will.

Given Timothy Dalton's realistic previous Bond Brosnan marks an overall step backward for the series and he's probably a major contributory factor towards the current cartoon nature of the series.

It's time to bin him & get a proper actor in for the role.

Clive Owen gets my vote. He's got the acting chops & more importantly the physical presence which Brosnan so obviously lacks.

Lazenby was no great shakes as an actor but he does have the considerable feather in his cap of appearing in the best ever Bond film.

Brosnan on the other hand can lay claim to appearing in three of the franchise's biggest turkeys.

Goldeneye was a false dawn & Brosnan just doesn't cut it I'm afraid.

I think, when you look at the type of scripts and bond girls Brosnan's been given, he's done an outstanding job. I mean, he makes the films seem classy, even though they're cornier than hell.

In my opinion Brosnan is the best Bond. Even better than Connery. That is just my opinion.
