Alrighty, I think he's "okay" as a writer and filmmaker... but many differ with me when I say I think Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is his best work to date. I truly think its FUNNY..BUT..
am I all alone in thinking he is the wrong choice to helm "The Green Hornet" project? Please..someone take this away before tragedy strikes! :(
Okay..I dont think he'll "ruin it".... but does anyone agree that maybe someone else should handle this puppy...I dunno....like maybe....

I don't think Tarantino is nearly the comic book guy Kevin Smith is. Beilive me, THIS IS THE GUY YOU WANT TO DOING A MOVIE BASED ON A COMIC book. Why you may ask...
1. He's probably read all of it, so he knows his shit.
2. He'll stay true to the source material
3. He is going to want to prove that he can do a action flick, like Tarantino did with Kill Bill 1 and 2.
Another thing about Tarantino, I think he the type of guy who likes to make his own material from stratch. I beilive(don't know of course) he likes to have full creative control over the process when it comes to the writing part and developing the characters. Not having to worry about doing an adapted screen play.

I've never read Rum Punch, but he based Jackie Brown on that book.

Smith can't direct his way out of a paper bag, this flick will be miramax's biggest flop, that is a guarantee.

It's an interesting decision, although one thing I didn't like what Smith said was that he doesn't like to direct action movies because he thinks filming action is really boring. He was persuaded to do this since he was assured he wouldn't have to be around there much when they were filming those. It saddened me since some of the best action sequences in recent years, like Blade 2 and Kill Bill, didn't have a second unit and was shot by their own director's the whole time. You could feel it in the frames, and that's one reason why I liked them so much. Handing Hornet's action scenes to some HK fight team and not involving Smith is a bad idea IMO

Smith should be involved in the action scenes, at least storyboarding or planning them!
