Let me know your thoughts and fellings regarding the New York indie-filmmaker Larry Fessenden. Habit is a very underlooked and underated Vampire movie that I discovered a few years ago! I have Also seen No telling and Wendigo.

Cronos, One of the general reasons that the majority of people bash larry's films, is because he doesnt make films that are hollywood minded. He prefers to work independently with his own company Glass Eye Pix...you can find it on the web.
Habit was a very unusual but facinating take on vampire lore, it basicly deals with addiction, lonliness and damaged relationships. I love this flick! you gotta' check it out if you want to see a film that wasnt meant for the mainstream! I have it on DVD along with his other films. PM me if you want to see Habit! :D

Fessenden is an acquired taste. Both Habit and Wendigo subsist on the outskirts of the genre. They're subtle, character-driven, and deliberately paced. I'm not even sure if I like them or not, which should tell you...well, that probably doesn't tell you much of anything. I've written reviews for both films, but I'm too lazy to dig them up. Suffice to say, they had me split down the middle.

Oh oh oh! Yes I have seen this film. Quite underground like "Nadja" but I quite enjoyed it. It had a few intriguing elements to add into the vampiric lore.

I haven`t seen any of his films yet, but I`d like to (esp. "Wendigo" as I find the actual legend interesting).
BTW, he has a cameo at the end of "Session 9".

Yeah, Elgyn good call... it's a real brutal death at the hands of Gordon!
s'cool that you mention Session 9. That movie is a great mind fuck right to the end, I loved it!! Solid suspenseful filmmaking on the edge, that is a rare thing these days. So I might recommend taking a look at "Habit", It's a far cry from the usual Vampire film. It really feeds off abiguity and underming expectation, It is a tragic play on many levels. If you have the opportunity, take the time out of your world and enter sams world.
Check out the trailer for Habit at Glass Eye Pix website:)
