I was reading in a magazine about Paul Schrader writing decent reviews for Auto Focus on Amazon.com and getting caught. I was wondering if anything like this has been known to happen here?
I'm not talking about them turning up and admiting who they are and praising their own movie. I'm talking about say the director of House Of The Dead turning up on the board and pretending to bee a normal movie fan and praising his movie.
Has this ever been known to happen on this board?

The closest I could ever think of would be Mark Steven Johnson turning up on the SuperheroHype boards and talking about his movie, Daredevil, but he never put up his own reviews and only posted once every couple months

This is ridiculous. This never really happens. Your dumb boards will never get any big name stars here. The very prospect of it is ridiculous! It's like me "revisiting the movies that made me a household name!"

Oh, and by the way, buy the Star Wars DVDs in November! And buy Episodes 1 and 2, because Jar Jar is the most hilarious character in film! ;)

I was thinking about this topic the other day. Movie studios do look at message boards for buzz on upcoming movies.

It says on the front page: "I love JoBlo.com" - Steven Spielberg. You know if he has been to the site, he has checked out the message boards.

Guierrmo del Toro would post on the Hellboy boards all the time, at least once a week. It was awesome talking to him and getting his opinion on things. Now, he didn't pose as just a fanboy, he came out and said who he was, but it was awesome of him to do it.

Some time back when the Australian zombie movie Undead was beeing shot, I made a thread about it on the horror boards and one of the directors (Michael Spierig) posted a few comments on the film. He never pretended to be anybody else though.

I almost had a heart attack when I read his post. Cool shite.
