I just saw this again on TV and I had forgotten how impressive a performance he gives.

I can't believe he wasn't even nominated for it? But Paul Schofield was for his role in Quiz Show?

Anyway, I was just wondering if I was the only one who thinks that Martin Landau should send his Oscar to Bacon immediately. Ed Wood is one of my favorite movies but his performance doesn't match up to Bacon's. Not even close.

For further proof of Bacon's genius, watch Diner. :)

I think Samuel Jackson and Landau was a real toss-up. Jackson in Pulp Fiction was brilliant. The Bible verse he did was chilling.

I totally agree. I thought his performance in this movie was absolutely mind-blowing, and definitely the best performance of his career. He got ignored for it, which I think is sad.

He was robbed.

Murder in the First was one of my favs of 1994, it had a great cast such as Kevin Bacon, Christian Slater, and Gary Oldman, and i think that all of these men should have been nominated for this wonderful and powerful movie, but i think Bacon deserved the Oscar for this movie his acting was so touching and powerful that it was the best of the year next to Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction.

Wow I forgot about this movie. It was a great film. I haven't watched it in quite awhile.

That being said I agree with a lot of the others above. Bacon was robbed by not getting nominated, however I think it was my man Samuel who was robbed by not winning the award.

Kevin Bacon's best work was in Animal House. "Thank you sir....may I have another." :D
