This past Friday, I saw Pumpkinhead on the big screen (see below), and last year, I was lucky enough to see the original Night of the Living Dead in a theater spilling over with devout genre ghouls. Both films are in my top ten, and I might catch TCM (!!!!!!!) later this year. And yourself?
Attention fellow Carolinians ~ every month, the Carolina Theatre (www.carolinatheatre.org) holds a horror double feature (http://www.geocities.com/retrofantasma/). This past Friday, they screened Pumpkinhead and Deadly Blessing. Next month, they'll be unspooling The Stepfather and The Stepford Wives, and in September, I'll be making it out to see Phantasm II and TCM. Just thought you'd like to know if you're near Durham. I'm not, which is why I probably won't be going again until September.

I haven't seen many movies at the theater lately period.I just rather rent movies, especially with thestuff coming out lately. Its hard to put down 8 or 9 bucks. Its a gamble, it's better to wait, rent ,and not feel bad for wasting money. Plus you can pause to pee or get food.Often I am surprised a how good the movies are but its a risk.I used to go to theaters. When was little, my sister and her husband would go to the drive in almost every weekend. They would take me to get me out of the house. Some of my best, and scariest memories were at the drive in.There I saw Dawn, The Prowler,Happy Birthday to Me, and fell in love with horror movies.Although The Prowler is one of the few movies to really scare the crap out of me.

The only horror films I've seen in theatres have been:
I Know What You Did Last Summer
Halloween H20
Disturbing Behavior (if you consider that horror)
Urban Legends 2: The Final Cut
None of them I particularly like. I usually always wait for video.

I've only seen Freddy and Jason on the big screen and that was when they were together in Freddy vs. Jason.
Everything else I've bought on DVD because I was either A) not old enough yet or B) Probably not even born yet.

It kinda sucks becuase most of my favorite horrors were out before I was born and horror movies are definitly the best kind of movie to see at the theaters. But I did manage to catch The Blair Witch Project, Freddy v.s. Jason, Dawn of the Dead (remake), and Texas Chainsaw Massacre (remake)

The only favorite of mine that I have seen in theaters was Freddy vs. Jason, and I've seen loads of crap in the theaters also. It's mainly due to my age i.e. all the good stuff came out before I was even born.
P.S. Nice Dolls avatar Erin, at least I think thats what it is...

The movies in my top 10 that I had the pleasure of seeing on the big screen are Evil Dead II, Shadow of the Vampire, Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein and GMK.
I saw Evil Dead II for the very first time nearly 4 years ago at a midnight showing at Chicago's best place for independent films: the Landmark Theatre. I saw Shadow of the Vampire at the same place. I caught Abbott and Costello playing at a Saturday matinee at another cool theatre called The Music Box. Then last summer I saw one of the best damn kaiju flicks EVER (GMK) at a theatre which was showing multiple Japanese kaiju flicks for G-Fest.
I can't wait for what might be shown this year at the aforementioned theatres!

If all goes well, this Friday, I'll be seeing An American Werewolf In London at Chicago's MusicBox Theatre. They're showing it on June 11 and 12 as part of their "Midnight Movies" series.

Im 26 but my dad took me to see horror movies since i was a Kid...so he talked to trhe manager of the theater and they´d let me in cause i was not a troblemaking kid, i was quiet at the show and plus here in Mexico they used to be cool about stuff and not so strict like in the US.
I saw:
Jaws 3D (Loved it so much, just got out of the theater and boughtthe Soundtrack).
Aliens (I was afraid out of my mind.)
The Fly (I was sickedned by it but never stopped eating popcorn)

and i watched Return of the Jedi on theaters back in the 80´s (Again not horror but i can brag about watching it originally on theaters, Just like todays Kids about Lord of the Rings in the Future).

I've seen most of the modern horror movies on the big screen. I missed out on Scream cause I was too young to see it, and if I wanted to see it had to go with someone 18 years or over, and no one was willing to see it, so got it immediately out on video. I was like obsessed with that movie at its release, still am I guess. One of my fave horror films. I saw Scream 2 and Scream 3 in cinema. All the Scream clones, I Know..../I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, Urban Legend/Urban Legends: Final Cut, Valentine... All the Dark Castle films, Jeepers and Jeepers 2, Freddy Vs Jason, Wrong Turn and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (03). One of the first scary films I remember seeing on the big screen was when I was 12 and I saw The Relic. That was pretty freaky. And I saw alot of horror film, or as many as I could, on TV and at friends places and stuff. But it wouldve been cool to see A Nightmare On Elm Street and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (The Original) on the big screen in their first opening weeks.

Remember, there is nothing like viewing a CLASSIC horror film in the theater...I feel bad for some of the younger schmoes! But thats what owning a collection of your favorite horror films is all about, reliving those moments spent in a darkened theater...with your girlfriend jumping into your lap! I did get to see An American Werewolf in London last Friday with my dad. Though there were some problems with the showing (sound going blank for a few seconds), it was great to have had the theatrical experience.
