Yeah this movie is pretty piss poor, the main dude playing Fred is one annoying not funny mother fucker and seeing phoebe cates and Tim Matheson lowering themselves to something of this magnitude and making asses of themselve is hard to watch.

The moral of the story, kids, is that if a girl you are with wants to watch a shitty movie, you do it. Because when all is said and done, you've been laid.
I, for one, used to love this movie as a kid. I caught it on TBS a few years back, and I was disappointed with myself that I actually enjoyed it. I was almost disturbed with how that tree came from the stairs (or something like that). I did love Fred's bitchin' green suit, though.

The film is piss-poor, but back in the day Rik Mayall was one funny fucker.
It pains me to see him making a complete twat of himself....but shit happens, ya know.
Mayall has some quality comedy under his belt...The New Statesman, Mr Jolly Lives Next Door, A Fistful of Travellers' Cheques, Blackadder. He might've hit his peak with The Young Ones...but he'll forever hold a special place in me heart.

I hate to admit that I saw this ONCE....
What was Phoebe thinking?
Movie very dull and the chemistry between Cates and that guy (points at BCV's post) went south for the winter. This movie is not worthy to be touched w/ a 10 ft pole. :D

the film is awful, but to say rick mayell is crap because of it is a travesty,he tried his hand at acting and it did'nt work but as a comedian he is superb.
the young ones, bottom, filthy rich and catflap, kevin turvey, the comic strip's present, blackadder, the new statesman are some of the best comedy's to come out of the uk in the last 15 years and he was the man behind most of them.
also from what i have seen of their careers from over here he has more talent in his arse than phoebe cates and tim(i look like shakin stevens) matheson put together.

Huzzah!
Pollution,
all around.
sometimes up...
sometimes down...
But always,
Around!
Pollution,
Are you coming to my town?
Or am I coming to yours?
We're on different buses, pollution...
but we're both using petrol.
BOMBS!
What do you think you're doing, Pig?
Do you really give a fig, Pig?
And what's your favourite type of gig, Pig?
Barry Manilow?
Or the Black and White Minstrel Show?
Oh Neil!
Neil!
Orange peel!
Oh, Cliff
Sometimes it must be difficult not to feel as if
You really are a Cliff
When Fascists keep trying to push you over it
Are they lemmings?
Or are you Cliff?
Or are you, Cliff?
What are you doing, Neil?
To make a meal, Neil?
From totalitarian vegetables.
How much does it cost , Neil...?

Absolutely horrid movie I agree. Anything that has to resort to nose picking can't be saved. It's been years since I saw it and it's going to stay that way.

Hmmm I used to love this movie as a kid but it obviously might not hold up to being viewed as an adult by all the negative reviews popping up here. I hate it when movies you like as a kid turn to doo doo when you realize they suck.

I watched this movie several times as a child but haven't seen it in the last dozen years or so. I thought it was really cool back then but doubt that I would have the same opinion of it if I watched it now. Just a movie that happened to pop up in my head, thinking of childhood memories, so I decided to bump this up. The one scene I really remember is Drop Dead Fred laying underneath the woman looking up her skirt remarking that he could see cobwebs. What a perv!
Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

a week or so ago i came down and turned on the tv late at night to find this on which was really odd since i havent seen it for something like 8 years or so, sat down and watched around 10 minutes of it (turned it on during the dog poo scene) and it was still pretty damn fun but i turned it off since i like watching things like this from the beginning. i'm gonna have to get a copy of it and give it another look, i reckon i'll still love it

"COBWEBS! SHE'S GOT COBWEBS!"
I didn't think this film was that bad. It wasn't good, but it wasn't terrible. That line in the movie made me laugh everytime.

THAT WAY BOAT!!!
one of the best quotes ever... that had me laughing incredibly hard as a kid.
the movie was average at best, though... had some funny one-liners, and some unfunny ones too... 5/10

I had the misfortune of seeing this dubbed into Spanish. I don't know what it's like in English, but I doubt Fred could be more annoying. I wanted to beat him mercilessly after sitting through ten minutes of his loud schtick.
That, and the movie looks incredibly cheap.
