Basically, what do you think is the coolest, darkest, cop movie.
I'll start off with a few...
1. Narc
2. Training Day
3. Serpico
4. Prince of the City
5. Bad Lieutenant

I actually really liked Dark Blue (Ving Rhames performance was great) but you have to go with Denzel in Training Day

Training Day, although Ethan Hawke cannot act. How did this get nominated for an Oscar?

Bad Lieutenant is the ultimate, but I also love one not mentioned yet: Internal Affairs.

I love this film too! One of the most underrated, underappreciated films of the 90's, and features Richard Gere's best performance.

Gere, one of Andy's best and most intense performances (I expected him to be a huge star :( ), and great work by a lot of other people, including the always compelling Annabella Sciorra.

This is my pick. One of the best casts ever with some phenomenal acting, even from Stallone in one of his best performances ever.

Chalk another one up for King Ving :D

I think Ebert said it best in that Hawke basically had to not only craft his own character, but keep up with the brilliance of Denzel. And since I thought he kept up just fine, I see no problem with the nomination.

So it really is just me and 5 other people who saw Romeo is Bleeding?
Corrupt cop who pays for all his sins in the most bitter way.
Kudos to a kickass Lena Olin.

Never mind Ethan Hawke Denzel Washington was atrocious in Training Day.
The Oscar nod was the classic case of someone being rewarded for playing against type.
As for best corrupt cop movie : To Live And Die In LA.

Nope. Seen it, love it also.
Lena is great and so is the always dead-on-the-money Anabella Sciorra.
