****I have included those films which are my FAVORITES, not necessarily the more/most important of the lot.
****I also haven't seen enough of the 1967-1970 releases to include top ten lists from those four years.
****I'll post my "Best of 2001" when the year is actually over.
****Don't hate me because I'm a horror fan.

Best films for the rest of the following years that I can recall at this time are:
1983- The Right Stuff
1982- E.T.
1981- Raiders of the Lost Ark
1980- Airplane!
1977- Star Wars
1976- Rocky
1975- Jaws
1974- The Godfather Part II
1973- The Exorcist
1972- The Godfather
This list will undoubtly change. So I will update it every now and then. *note*-any glaring omissions probably means I haven't seen it yet. For instance, I'm sure Raging Bull is the best film of 1980, but I have not seen it yet. Although, there could be the possibility that I didn't agree as well, obviously.

I gotta ask -what had kept you from seeing Raging Bull? As for the lists, Anton, ulove, not bad...not bad at all...
Antonio -Is it me or do you have a soft spot for kids flicks? My Dog Skip, Toy Story 2, Simon Birch, Babe, Babe: Pig In The City, Lion King, etc...

Quentin, so what? Since I'm an adult, I'm not allowed to enjoy "kid flicks"? Your mentors Siskel and Ebert raved about BABE and its sequel as well, while SKIP just reminded me of my childhood dog. Big fucking deal.

Gene Siskel called BABE: PIG IN THE CITY the best movie of 1999, because it WAS. It's a terrific movie in every way, and so are all the other "kids flicks." In fact, all the movies he listed are better, in my opinion, that a lot of "adult" films. They all have great stories and values, and people of ALL ages can watch them. Now THAT'S a movie!

I'm not sure what movie you saw, but it wasn't BABE: PIG IN THE CITY. The story was very warm and funny, but in a different way than the first (don't forget that in the first animals were slaughtered and eaten). Babe the gallant pig saves the day in the end, and it shows you to what lengths he went. BABE: PIG IN THE CITY is a different kind of family film, one with, yes, a real story and characters. Enough said.

YES! Finally someone appreciates these two EXTREMELY underrated films. BY FAR the most underrated films the years they were released, they are masterpieces of character, story and pure art. Thank you http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

Your welcome Nate6, I totally agree with you. We don't have too many people saying good things about those kinds of films. You betcha!!
I forgot to put up this question here, but I wanted to know Quentin, what exactly you saw in 'Man on the Moon' as being a good picture'?; other than Carrey's superb performance, which I thought was the only good thing about the film. I'd just like your thoughts, that's all.
