I liked Excalibur quite a bit, but Ladyhawke was, hands down, the superior of the two, and any other Medieval Film.

BECKET, ANNE OF A THOUSAND DAYS, THE LION IN WINTER, LADY JANE ( yes, i'm a sap ), THE PRIVATE LIVES OF KING HENRY VII, A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS. All of these were historical dramas and i guess would be classified as midaevil but I also love THE PRINCESS BRIDE and LADYHAWKE, thought he latter is really more of a science fiction age w/ the modern twist and all. Also, ELIZABETH was a very lyrical take on the time period.

Without a doubt, it's gotta be Excalibur and Ladyhawke.

Excalibur may be the best, but the Name of the Rose is a close second.
