I know this isn't really a horror movie, but it was made by a horror director and it's supposed to feature alot of gore so I figured this was as good a place as any to ask. Besides, I value all of your opinions more than anyone elses.

To the question at hand:

I've wanted to see this for awhile because the premise sounded pretty cool, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. It wasn't for sale anywhere and Netflix didn't stock it either. Well, over the weekend I found an old VHS copy at a local store for $1.99 so I bought it. Now, the problem is that it's the R-Rated US version and I know that it was butchered by the MPAA.

I want to know if this version is even worth watching or should I stick it out to find the uncut version?

From what I gather, you don't want to bother with a cut version. I haven't seen Cut and Run, but I've read a description of its violent content. There's no way that it would be slapped with an R rating without having to sacrifice the good stuff.

i havent yet seen this, although i really want to, from what ive read about it the uncut version is very gory and probably the only version to go for, the R-rated and Uk versions had alternate, tamer violence whereas the uncut footage was made for Italy, Japan where they could make it a lot stronger

I'd really like to see more films by this director seeing as I loved Cannibal Holocaust. I will look into buying this and his other films seeing as I haven't found them anywhere to rent.
