I might be wrong, but The Royal Tenanbaums came out in 2001, and Punch-Drunk Love came out in 2002.


And I thought that The Royal Tenanbaums was an original screenplay.

No, you're right. The Royal Tenenbaums would not be elgible for the 2003 Oscars, although Punch-Drunk Love would, which did come out in 2002.

I don't believe I Am Sam would be elgible either.
