What was your favorite fight of the two volumes? Or if there wasn't an actual "fight" per se (like Beatrix vs. Budd for example), what was your favorite encounter between two hard-boiled assassins?

Mine was the fucking arse-kickin' fight in Budd's trailer between Beatrix and Elle Driver. Classic ending, too :D

P.S. I'm dealing strictly with one-on-one battles here, so no "House Of Blue Leaves".

I'd say the GoGo fight, along with the Elle Driver fight (especially the end of it ;))

Beatrix vs. Elle was the best in terms of being brutal and kickass.

I also loved the fight between Beatrix and O-Ren because the setting and music were perfect.

Beatrix Vs. O-Ren Ishii, the music plays great along with it.

Then Beatrix Vs. Elle Driver

I voted for the Budd vs. Beatrix confrontation (although both showdown's between Beatrix and Oren, and Beatrix and Elle were also fantastic). I found the Budd-Beatrix sequence in Vol.2 the most enthralling...beginning with Budd sensing Beatrix's presence when he gets home from work, right up to the emotional climax of the buried alive scene. This sequence was, IMHO, an absolutely jaw-droppingly confronting and truly brilliant moment in cinema. The sound of The Bride panicking inside the coffin, the sound of the dirt landing on the box and the thud of the torch hitting the wood was so well done. Also the flash back to the Tutelage of Pai Mei and the story behind the one inch punch was fantastic as well.

This is why I found the Budd-Beatrix showdown the best pick of the bunch!

Beatrix vs. Bill is the most memorable, for me.

Then, Beatrix and Elle.

Bea versus Elle Driver. It may not be as large scale as the house of Blue Leaves in terms of violence, but I found it even more brutal. Some of those crunching blows were sick! When they finally faced off, both holding the Hanzo swords, and the Morricone song kicked in, I pumped my fists with "oh hell yeah" glee. The squishy, ironic payoff was a great capper to the battle between the two valkyries.

They were all totally awesome, but Beatrix and Elle is getting my vote today.

All of them kickass but I'm going with the classic Beatrix vs. Elle.

GREATEST. CATFIGHT. EVER.

Followed closely by Beatrix vs. Go Go.

Based on the title of the thread, you probably shouldn't have come in here if you haven't seen one or both of the movies.

If there was a Beatrix vs. Crazy 88 I would have gone with that, but since there wasn't, I went with Bill because it was so perfect in its context. The Vernita and Elle ones were also fantastic, as was Go-Go. Lucy Liu by herself wasn't all that amazing.

Ms. Kiddo vs. Ms. Driver. THAT was a catfight. No apologies there!

Beatrix Kiddo vs. Elle Driver vs. Budd

I like to consider this as one fight because it was just so great. I adore Elle Driver. She's such a nasty bitch. Too bad Volume 2 sucked ass. The only thing I liked about it was that scene.

My Kill Bill Top 3

1) Bride vs Elle vs Budd
2) Bride vs GoGo
3) Bride vs Crazy 88

Elle vs. The Bride is easily the best one.

Pai Mei Vs Beatrix.

For me, Pai Mei was the best character of Kill Bill Vol. 2. He had a personality that jumped out and kicked you in the balls, but he could back up his talk.

I loved the Go-Go battle so I chose that. Close between that and the Bea-Elle scene.

"Now GoGo, I know you feel you must protect your mistress, but I beg you, walk away."

"Hehehe. You call that begging."

*walks down stairs*

"You can beg a lot better than that." *drops spiky ball on the ground*

Good stuff. :D :D :D

Hehe, nice. I wasn't even sure whether that cereal existed or whether Tarantino invented it (as he is wont to do with his love of cereal). We don't have "Kaboom" over here in Australia :(

I don't know, but all of this thinking is stressing me out. Think I'm gonna go outside and have a pack of Red Apples. ;)
