There are also the obvious ones like Pamela Anderson, John Claude Van Damne, Steven Segal, Pauly Shore and Tom Green.

Then why the hell do Roberts and Hanks have oscars? And particularly Hanks who has two of em' and he got them right after the other. They must have been good somewhat to get the oscars. What is up with that? I'd like to know why you think that. They must've done something to make you hate them, because they aren't half bad at what they do. Give some examples to justify why, please.

Now, as a sidenote:
I CAN'T STAND that guy they call Ben Affleck, I don't think I have seen him play more than one type of person on the screen. All he does is show up, and they pay him for it. He has no talent and ruined Pearl Harbor. If anyone has seen him play any other person on screen, other than himself, I'd like to know. Because this is the most overrated guy in Hollywood. That I can think of.

Hey Fergus, I personally think the academies taste is in its ass 99% of the time. (eg:Johnny Depp and Gary Oldman haven't even won an Oscar. IMO they inhibit their roles far more than Hanks and have a far more diverse body of work)

To be more specific TOM HANKS is an OK comedian. Bachelor Party, The Man With One Red Shoe and his SNL stuff was amusing. However, Forrest Gump, Philidelphia and Saving Private Ryan etc are all pathetic charecterizations IMO. No range, no depth no believability.

Which brings me to Miss cardboard cut-out, Julia Roberts. Christ, she managed to ruin a Soderburgh film and that takes skill. Fortunately due to her lack of intellect the subject matter she wishes to explore in film doesnt interest me at all.

Again the Academy has no idea of talent, considering Jennifer Jason Leigh (a true actress) has never won an Oscar.

So to sum up the reason I think Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts ruin films is that they have no range (even though they do try with laughable results) and stand out like a sore thumb in every scene they do. This ruins the pacing of a film and makes it impossible to be swept up in the story.

Hope this clarifies my disdain for this talentless pair who should have been in sitcoms.
