Well I'm surprised that there is no Anime section on these boards. Or may I haven't dug deep enough. So I was wondering, what are your favorite animations??

I'm getting ready for a whole lot of Akira responses.

Grave of The Fireflies (Hotaru no Haka) is definetly the best I've seen, Princess Mononoke (Mononoke Hime) would be the runner up.

I'm partial to Hellsing myself. In fact it's the only anime that i can tolerate... belive me I've been to people houses and watched plenty of animes and Hellsing is the only series that keeps my attention, i don't like that whole Lupin III hes a clumsy spy i dont like that shit, oh yeah Trigun is also fuckin cool. So allow me to rephrase my above statement: Hellsing and Trigun are my favorite animes.

That about does it...

Another 'Hellsing' fan. Welcome, welcome!

Alongside that, I prefer:

Perfect Blue
Spirted Away
Ninja Scroll
Grave of the Fireflies
Vampire Hunter D
Cowboy Bebop
Sailor Moon (and proud of it, mind)
Astroboy

There's the usuals:
Ghost in the Shell
Akira
Grave of the Fireflies
Princess Mononoke

but I also loved:
Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise
Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade
Serial Experiments: Lain
Haibane-Renmei

Sometimes you really gotta sift through the garbage.

Cowboy Beebop and its movie are some of the coolest peices of animation i am likely to ever see.

Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke are both on my top 10 movies of all time, animated or no.

1. My Neighbor Totoro
2. Grave of the Fireflies
3. Laputa: Castle in the Sky
4. Spirited Away
5. Perfect Blue

admittedly, i haven't seen that many besides the Ghibli films (which I've seen all of the Miyazaki films now I believe), and the occasional other anime film. I haven't seen the likes of Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, or Akira, but i'm getting to them eventually. I have seen Ninja Scroll, but don't remember much of it which is why it isn't on the list. But it'd probably be somewhere up there.

it's weird that Totoro and Grave are my top two - they both came out the same day and were shown back to back, because Totoro's ultimate cheeriness counters Grave's ultimate sadness and i'm guessing it was effective cause both of these are pretty much now classics.
