Hard to say . . . i'm a weird fella.

Although Underworld and Final Destination are my favorite movies ever, my type of horror is the mindfuck.

It has to be dramatic, character based, very confusing and I don't care for gore, if it's a gorefest (13 Seconds), if it's mildly gory (Identity) or completely lacking (Session 9, Mulholland Drive) I can love it.

I think I have a kind of mixed bag also. I like suspense and mindfuckish stuff, but I`m not into gore that much, unless it`s somehow stilish or has some artistic dimension to it. Acrually I often watch movies from the artist perspective, so I like movies that have some artistic quality too. (Lynch, Burton, and such movies)

It depends. Some of the movies I like are mindless gorefests while others are character driven, smart horror movies. Depends on the quality of the movie.

You guys here know Ill go into anything horror.

Ill talk about Hammer films, foreign horror, silent horror, 80s horror, fulci, argento and obscure obscure stuff...whatever if its horror Im there, cause you see, I dig horror, this type of thing is defenetly my bag baby.

Im also into drawing horror comics a lot. I find it amusing to draw stuff that will amuse me (read: really violent stuff with monsters in it)

supernatural/ghosts/suspense, not into gore whatsoever.

IT totally depends what mood im in.

Some times im in the mood for a campy and cheesy 80's flick.

Others I i'm in the mood for the new age junk ie. The Sixth Sense, The Ring ETC.

BUT MOST OF THE TIME

I'm an all out old school horror buff (TCM 74', Evil Dead, Dawn of the Dead)

I'm really into weird horror...sort of like X i like the Mindfuck's for example i loved Donnie Darko...most of Lynch's moveis and Cronenberg (If you consider that horror) and i like horror movies based on monsters/creatures (Alien, Predator, etc.) I also enjoyed some cannibal movies if they excluded the animal cruelty

I love a good old fashioned slasher with fun stalk sequences, a shower scene, gore, stupid teens and a crzzy madman with an assortment of weapons...

but I also like a good old ghost story too

all a matter of what I'm in the mood for...

I'm a bit of a gorehound at heart, but I guess it's dependent on the mood I'm in.

At heart I'm a gorehound.....I like my movies extremely brutal with wall-to-wall bloodshed....I'm constantly on the lookout for something that'll just make me say "Hooooly fuck.", which is partly why I loved Haute Tension so much.

On the other hand...I just love all kinds of horror...psychological, ghost, slasher, monster (actually..monster a bit more than the others :D).

It it's unsettling, scary, or just plain enjoyable (if it's all 3 then it's great), then I'll watch it. :D

Cool, glad to see some replies. With me though, i love gore, i've turned down MANY movies because they were cut, i've had my dvd player "multi-regioned" (i know hacks for almost ALL players) so i can get dvds banned in britian.

I also love supernatural stuff, i'm really interested in ghosts and stuff. My dad says when i was two i used to sit in the corner talking to myself and when he asked who i was talking to i pointed and said "man", weird eh? I can also remember seeing things in my old house too, we moved when i was 9 (17 now).

I watch pretty much any horror movie. I at least give movies a chance.A lot of times the movie sucks but there is always that hidden gem like Session 9. I had no expectation when I rented it but I loved it.That is generally not my type of movie. I like the gore movies the most. I like to put a movie on and say" show me something new".A terrible movie can be a good one for me if the effects are good.

I LOVE anything horror or horror related. Even if it's not my personal style, I'll give any movie a chance. Whether it's a monster movie, a thriller, a psychological mind fuck, or a character driven supernatural tale - I'm open to anything.

But, basically, I am SLASHER boy! Any slasher - I'll try it, and most probably love it!!! They have everything I'm looking for in a movie - silly characters, creative deaths, naked chicks and a bad ass killer looking to despatch anyone getting in his/her way! I love the atmospheres, and I love the whole 'fight for survival' aspect. Who will survive the killer? And how will they stop it?!! :p

Though I like the red stuff...

For me, its , ALWAYS story over gory

Give me a story as brutal and bloody as hell... but give it to me with logic and a decent plot.

I'm way past being impressed at shock and awe moments just for the sake to viscerally shock me without bringing me in emotionally as well.

For me it's generally monsters of every shape and size. However, I like different horror films from every decade, monsters or not.

All of the above about sums it up. Though it does depend on my mood as well. For instance, if I'm feelin' down I'll pop in Donnie Darko, silly mood? Dead Alive etc etc. :)

Depends what kind of mood I'm in. I can watch any kind of movie, so any kind of horror movie would do. I love the low budget stuff from the 70's and 80's. But really, I can watch anything.

Ditto. I'm one of those "garden variety" horror fans. I can't say that I have a favorite subgenre.

I mostly love watching good shitty movies like Cthulhu Mansion and Troll 2, but, also mood-dependent, I like intelligent horror, romance-horror, gore, and really any kind.

My favorites tend to lean towards the mindfucks, Jacobs ladder and the like. But I love 'em all.

Same here, I love a horror movie that has plently of gore thrown in (hey, who doesn't love excessive amounts of gore? :D) and also like a clever horror film that if the plot doesn't ask for gore it shouldn't have it.
