Director Vadim Perelman (House Of Sand & Fog) has dumped plans to
direct The Talisman

Ukrainian director Perelman has walked away from the Dreamworks
project after six months of development. Perelman left the project
by mutual consent.

Producer Steven Spielberg must now begin a search to find another
director for the Stephen King adaptation.

The Talisman is about 12-year-old Jack Sawyer, who goes on a quest to
a parallel world known as the Territories to find a talisman that
will save his dying mother and the queen of the Territories.

Stephen King co-wrote the novel with Peter Straub in 1984 and the duo
reteamed for sequel Black House in 2001.
