Does anyone remember this very creepy and inappropriate vampire flick about a much-too-young girl in an orphanage run by a female vampire?
I remember they used to broadcast it on Saturday afternoons. It was slow, atmospheric, not terribly gory, but it just disturbed the hell out of me as a kid.

Yes I like Lemora a lot. It combines tons of atmosphere and weird images (peculiar looking dolls, weird kids, old hags) and disturbing at times. Cheryl Smith is good as the innocent Lila Lee and Lesley Gib is off her rocker at times as Lemora. One thing you can say about the movie is that for better or worse it is different. I thought Synapse was going to release it on DVD at the beginning of the year but I can’t find any more info. Does anyone know what’s up?

Look for Lemora: A Child's tale of the Supernatural
I think that's what you're talking about. I loved it as a kid, I saw it on "Movie Maccabre" (where Elvira came from). Very creepy.

Synapse must be having financial trouble. I was just griping about them in another thread. It takes them a few eternities to follow through with a DVD release. I'd love to check out Lemora. I remember reading an intriguing article about it in an issue of Fangoria some time ago.

Some great news as Synapse updated their website saying they merged with another company. Anyway for Lemora fans August 31, 2004 is the new release date with a Gib and Blackburn commentary. Mark it on your calenders.

Thanks for the tidbit, Cabrini. Very cool news. At least they had a good reason for lying idle.
