Gimme Shelter
How the 60's came to a crashing halt caught on film. Fucking brilliant! Some great tunes in there as well.
Hoop Dreams, no contest. Might be my favorite film of all time.

One Day In September
Woodstock
American Movie: The Making Of Northwestern
(The best friend talking about his experience of acid in a hospital emergency room is, bar none, the most comical thing I have ever seen).
Crumb
Hoop Dreams
Roger & Me/Bowling For Columbine
Sud
Gimme Shelter
Aileen Wuornos: The Selling Of A Serial Killer
Helter Skelter
Of the documetary films I have listed, Sud and One Day in September are the most horrific, though exception of the Gimme Shelter sequence (you know the one) must be made. I think, overall, though, that Hoop Dreams is the benchmark. I love all these films, but only Sud has made me cry my heart out.

The one about the bugs . . . ? "The Hellstrom Chronicles." That one scared the bleep out of me.
