I just got this dvd and it's a 2 disc set the english version and the german version. I saw half of the movie 6 years ago it was killer. but is the 2 versions of the movie the same?

i believe the german version is slightly longer

I'm pretty sure that there's no difference. One is subtitled, while the other is dubbed. The film itself remains the same.

i dont know if its the same elsewhere, but in the UK the German version is apparently 12 minutes longer

They filmed thsi film over twice I heard, once with the actors speaking in German, once with them speaking in English...maybe the German lines took longer to deliver.

Shit, you're right. It's not dubbed in English; it was filmed in both English and German. I wonder why they couldn't put both versions on the same disc. Even on two separate discs, the image quality is only fair.

just bought it myself . I don't understand it either , but the movie still has the coolest looking vampire to ever exist . :)

im gonna have to get this, ive never heard of a film being filmed twice in 2 different languages, ill have to see how they differ

I've owned the 2 DVD set for about two years now. The film is great whether you watch it in English or in German. As for the length I don't remember one being longer than the other but I did read that one was longer. Either way it is a good buy if you like the film.
