I just recieved this album in the mail yesterday and I am totally blown away as to how good this record is. I had caught this guy open up for My Morning Jacket and I was blown away by his performance so I decided to pick this little green cd up. It was money well spent. The guy sort of reminds me of a mix between springsteen, Nick Drake, and Will Oldham. His songs switch and purr through different styles all throughout the album. I highly suggest this album to the schmoes who like a bit of country mixed in their rock. *Cough* Psychocandy *cough* *cough*

I know Submethod has this I'll leave the floor open for him now........

I completely agree with everything that has been said about this artist and album. I came across it because through a music magazine that gave it some really great remarks. Its definitely a good album to invest some time and money into.

I heard this album pretty recently, and I thought it was amazing. His vocals are very soothing.

I'm going to listen to it again tonight.

I can't stop listening to his cover of Let's Dance. It's as good as the original and that's saying alot.

Ok...bought this today. I'm five tracks in on my first listen and so far I love it. I've read a whole bunch of influences already...mainly it reminds me of Lambchop and Vic Chesnutt. All in all very fine stuff indeed.

A friend of mine (whom I amiably refer to as "Dr Emo") lent me a mixed CD today that had some of the guy's songs on it.

The Voice At The End Of The Line was my favorite. A gorgeous take on Motown composition, coupled with some very saddd lyrics.

Very sweet and all, but the fact remains that his voice sounds like that of a TB patient. I dont understand this whole 'skinny-white-boys-trying-to-sound-like-Roberta-Flack' thing.
