Meanwhile, the latest reports from Crystal Lake indicate that the upcoming Friday the 13th box set from Paramount will be a five-disc affair, instead of the of the previously reported nine discs. The set will feature the eight Jason films on four dual-sided discs in anamorphic widescreen and various Dolby Digital audio options. Despite early speculation, however, none of the films will be presented in their original pre-MPAA uncut versions. Audio commentary tracks recorded thus far include ones for Part 3 (cast members Dana Kimmell, Paul Kratka, Richard Brooker, Larry Zerner), Part 6 (director Tom McLoughlin), Part 7 (director John Carl Buechler and Kane "Jason" Hodder) and Part 8 (director Rob Hedden). The bonus materials will be relegated to the fifth disc and will include uncut deleted footage from Parts 1 and 6 (presented side-by-side with the R-rated versions), more deleted footage from Part 7 (with commentary by John Buechler) and additional scenes from the TV version of Part 4. Rounding out the extras are some featurettes, cast & crew interviews and trailers. Thanks to Camp Crystal Lake and HorrorDVDs for the details.

:( Yuck. Thanks for nothing Paramount.

At least they are being released as an affordable box set rather than the ultra hard to find individual films that you could buy a house in a 3rd world country for the price they charge.

I agree that the box set extras are shit. But, yeah, it's Paramount. They gave us shit on the Star Trek box sets, why stop now!

I would've liked a more deluxe packaging like the nightmare series, but it's friday the 13th so i will break down and buy it. I've only held of this long, because of the release of these.

This isn't suprising to me all Paramount has always thought of the Friday the 13th series as its basterd child so its not suprisng that their Friday the 13th boxed set is half assed.

I 4 1 will be staying away if this is indeed how the box set turns out since I already have the bare bones discs.

This really sucks. You think Paramount was about to do something finally right then they pull this on us.

Disappointed? Not surprised. I think all F13 fans, horror fans, and even movie fans in general, should e-mail or write to Paramount about how disappointing their F13 boxset is sounding and ask that it is done PROPERLY with the uncut footage in the films as Unrated versions. There are so many obscure horror films that get unrated DVDs, but the F13's, noooooooooo!

Here's Paramount's website - www.paramountpictures.com - you should be able find where you can e-mail them and write to them. I've sent this message on this board and some other boards. We need to contact Paramount and tell them to not fuck up our "precccious" F13 boxset! But, be nice, boys and girls. We won't get through to them with hostility and F-bombs.

They could have at least gave us part 1 and part 7 uncut as we all know all the MPAA cut footage exists for those films and is in good enough shape to be put in the movies no problem.

Yes it's greatly dissapointing. Ive held off on buying any Friday DVDs though, so will pick them one up to save money and at least get SOME extras. Now if they re-release this in future i'll be pissed

1 and 6 will be uncut, I believe I read, and 7's deleted footage will be included, like deleted scenes on other dvd's.

Jason Goes to Hell, Jason X and Freddy vs. Jason belong to New Line Cinema, so no.

Fuck it...i'll buy it but i REALLY REALLY REALLY hate paramount for the extras and presenting the films in their cut version. Why would they do that honestly?? it makes really no difference to them does it? they'll just make their customers happier and probably make more money...anyway if the artwork and box is decent i'll pick it up.

Also, anothr thing i noticed is on dvdaficionado.com in the description it has (uncut?) next to each title so there might be a chance that it will be uncut .. maybe???

At this rate I highly doubt that they will be uncut there MS. We can only hope and pray but I fear that it will all be in vain. Fuckin' Paramount......lets kill them. :D I know it would make me feel better.

this is something I could live with

I don't NEED 1500 extra documentaries and features, but come on Paramount, you cocksuckers can at least give us Uncut!

and individual disks would be nice too

bastards, fucking bastards

If at least 1 and 6 are uncut, I'll be happy. Part 6, especially. The final product has to be badass.
