MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS
A couple of scientists and their mindless female side kick end up at the starting point of the Earth's greatest threat yet, a giant alien succu-bot! The gaint monolith of terror proceeds to glide across the United States devouring energy in it's path and absorbing all of Earth's weapons!
Only in the 50s (and possibly the trippier moments of the 60s) could a gaint card board box be threatening. Despite it's obvious stupidity, this is yet another decent hunk of science drivel from the golden age of film. The movie has some taut action sequences, the characters interesting, there are some wildly engaging sub-plots involving possession, and the alien box is defeated with unexplained techno-babble. Quite the indulgent fair for lovers of video cheese.
TO COOL FOR SCHOOL MOMENT- When the Kronos absorbs the stock footage blast of a nuclear bomb!
