Hanibal, Final Fantasy and The Mummy Returns have been the biggest let down so far.
Final Fantasy loooooked sooo good! but the story really killed it!
Hanibal was all gore and nothing else
The Mummy Returns was hyper overload!

I'd have to say Final Fantasy.
It had the potential on becoming one of the greatest movies of the year, but killed the whole atmosphere with it's (ahem) story.

For me "Bridget Jones` Diary", because I thought it would be outstanding, but the book turned out to be much MUCH much better.

American Pie 2 wasn't really that bad. I thought that it was an OK sequel.

JURASSIC PARK 3 was the biggest let down of 2001.

Planet of the Apes, which I enjoyed, but it was nothing like I thought it would be like!

Definitely Planet of the Apes, HUGE letdown, followed by Tomb Raider. Bad movies

Pearl Harbor was actually not a let down to me.
But the biggest let-down was Jurassic Park 3. GOD DID THAT MOVIE SUCK. I loved the first 2 but GOD DID THAR MOVIE SUCK. I MEAN DID IT REALLY HAVE TO SUCK THAT MUCH.
IT IS BASICALLY THE WORST MOVIE EVER MADE NEXT TO BATTLEFIELD: EARTH.

Evolution was kinda funny, but also kinda ......just crap
Jurassic Park 3 was alright but nothing special, but not a let down

Tough choice, most all the big movies sucked this summer (although I, for one, loved Final Fantasy). Tomb Raider, JP3, and Pearl Harbor where all huge letdowns, but I don't think any movie pissed me off more than THE MUMMY RETURNS. On how many levels was this movie bad?

"Pearl Harbor" was just a "Titanic" and "Saving Private Ryan" wannabe. Technically pretty good, but the story, characters, and dialogue stunk.
"3000 Miles to Graceland" could have been a cool, clever caper, but it fucked it up royally. One of the worst films I've ever seen.

Hannibal- has 'Video Nasty' written all over it.
Tomb Raider- And the award for 'Carrying One Entire Movie On Her Shoulders With Help From The Soundtrack' goes to...
Final Fantasy- The hair was the best thing about it.
Jurassic Park III- Macy, what were you thinking?
Planet Of The Apes- not necessarily a bad movie, but not as good as it should have been. When someone under layers of makeup acts better than someone with the freedom of facial expression, there is something very wrong.

I'd have to say "Jurassic Park III" which I think is only mediocre.
I love "Jurassic Park" and, yes, even "The Lost World" which I didn't know people didn't like until I saw how low it was rated on the IMDb.
My grades for the 3 films.
"Jurassic Park" - 9/10
"The Lost World" - 8/10
"Jurassic Park III" - 6/10

I see the trend is Pearl Harbor, Planet of the Apes and JPIII.
Other disapointments are:
Atlantis (Disneys worst to date)
American Pie 2 (same stuff different number and not funny)
Swordfish was cool, bit more of the Bullet Time stuff and it would have been great! but i expected more
PS.. A.I the movie of the year next to Shrek and Momento!!!

Cats & Dogs looked really good, but failed
Stop Bagging A.I! it was GREAT! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif
The Animal was never going to be good, but i just have to say it sucked
I don't expect much from summer films so there are usually no big letdowns.

Pearl Harbor
-------it was long, boring, horribly acted, terribly shot and not to mention way too patriotic for my liking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and
Tomb Raider
-------the script was written by a 5 year old, the camerawork was fuzzy and very muddy, the visual effects were terrible.......the only positive element to this mess was Angelina Jolie's curvy body

Jurassic Park III (4/10). Man I was really looking forward to that stinker. Also A.I. (7/10) was kind of a letdown.

Jurassic Park 3 . . without a doubt

ATLANTIS: THE LOST EMPIRE (4/10) had the potential to SO good, especially with the directors of the classic Disney flicks BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (9/10) and THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (10/10). They ruined it.
Movie I thought would be a letdown: PLANET OF THE APES (7/10). I enjoyed it.

I was really let down with Hannibal. The DVD is great and all, but the actual movie just has no replay value. Not a bad movie just not to my taste.

Pearl Harbor: blowed horribly, stinking, rotting, ass. Funny how they made it seem like those 2 guys just went and won the war for America.
Planet of the Apes: wasnt a bad movie, but it wasnt good either. It could have been so much more. Now that I think about it, I would rather see Jurassic Park 3 again before I saw Planet of the Apes again. At least Jurassic Park 3 didnt have any boring down time.
A.I. was not a let-down at all. I thought it was incredible. If anything it was a let-up.

Tomb Raider - I hate Angelina, I still don't know why the hell I saw this. I wanted to see JP3, but my idiot friends wanted this crap. Confusing, way too short, it was bad.
Pearl Harbor - It all went to shit after the first two hours. My God, how I LOATHED Ben Affleck's cocky dickhead character.
