The bastard child of a circus performer born under a streetlight in Marseille who somehow managed to sing (....fuck and drink!) her way to being the highest paid performer in the world.

Ohhh~!, this is incomparable romanticism and wine and great lighting and brothels. Every track I hear is just COMPLETELY exciting and I.. wow, in love.. IN LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE!

But yeah, she has a magnificent voice. They play some of her music in Saving Private Ryan, which is how I first heard of her.

My parents listened to Edith Piaf often when I was just a kid, so that's where I know her from. I don't speak a word of French, but she always sounded very clear, very beautiful, and almost melancholic. I have no idea what she was singing about. ;)
