Anybody remember this laughfest? About some little psycho bastard who's Teddy bear is alive and tell's him to kill. And he has friend's named Tra la log's that live in a pit in the wood's, and eat's human flesh?
Man this was one for the book's. About as B movie as you can get, but strangely entertaining.

I know its been a long time since I've seen it. I've been wanting to rent it at my local store and review it on here, but I keep looking at it and saying "Nahhhh..."

The Pit's cover art has almost convinced me to rent it on numerous occasions, but I always desist. What does the woodsy fiend look like?

I did the same thing. I would always want to rent it, but would resist. Then one day I realized I had rented everything in the horror section...lol. So I picked it up.
The Tra la log's look like Ewok's on crack. The acting is shoddy to say the least. The character development is non existence. I feel no sympathy for the little boy. Plus, the kill scene's are down right funny. Apparently the victim's are not impressed by flesh eating ewok's.
Don't watch the movie to be entertained by an intelligent, well crafted horror film. Watch it to laugh and kill some time. It's worth a rent if ya got nothing else better to do.

count, you REALLY need to check this one out.
It almost rivals the original "Phantasm" for 'Weirdest Horror Movie Ever Made'.

I dunno if I'd compare it to "Phantasm", I mean Phantasm was actually had a plot, decent acting, tense moment's, and oh yeah, it was actually GOOD!
I'd compare "The Pit" to "Troll" or maybe "Killer Toons".

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa.......
I didn`t mean "The Pit" is comparable to "Phantasm" in terms of quality............just in terms of weirdness.

"Phantasm" never came off wierd to me. Different and original yes, but wierd, I dunno. I look at "Phantasm" the same way I view "Hellraiser". Stand out's in the horror genre for sure, but they never made me go "What the?!"
I still compare "The Pit" with "Troll" in wierdness factor. A bizzare storyline, with odd character's, and a ridiculus conclusion. But I suppose that's just my opinion.

Yeah, I wouldn't consider Phantasm to be weird. Maybe I've just seen too many weird movies for my own good. Trust me, dude; Phantasm looks perfectly normal after you've seen The Astro Zombies, Funnyman, and Elves.

How about it from the pit? Seriously though, havent seen this one yet. Now as to "Phantasm" what is really unique about that movie is that it doesnt follow a structured line. It keeps the viewer completely off balance! Booooooyyyyyyy!!!!!!

Yeah, it`s very dream-like and non-linear. That`s what I meant by 'weird'.
Anyways dude, if you can find "The Pit" you should check it out, at least for curiousity`s sake.

The Pit is a real dozy. I have this flick for some reason for two bucks. When the kid sees the ghost of his babysitter was the last straw. I kind of feel sorry more for the Trogs then Jamie the kid when a redneck lynch mob rounds them up. They just wanted to eat. They jumped back in their hole like good little Trogs before being systematically slaughtered. He should have thrown the cow down that pit. Great line when the keystone cop finds a body – “We’ve got another missing person. Only this time he’s not missing; he’s dead.”

I watched this movie a couple of times back when I was around five (I'm 24 now) and the film kinda stuck with me since. Back in the furthest recesses of my memory I always remembered how cool I thought it was that little Jamie would push people into this huge pit to feed his little critter friends. So I bought it a couple of years ago even knowing that it must be bad and I STILL have to say what a dumb ass fucking motherfucking bunch of bullfuck! Seriously awful beyond my imagination. Tra la logs? Ha ha.
According to IMDB in the writers original draft those corny little shits were all apart of Jamie's imagination but the director changed it. They were all in his head, going for a more psychological approach I suppose. Also, the girl in the skinny dipping scene was the directors daughter. EWW! How awkward!
Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

I really love the pit. One of my all time fave camp films. I may watch it tonight actually. I have some beers in so it would be a perfect choice.

watching this at the moment and while i quite like the idea of the film the kid is just terrible. the acting in general isn't very good really....other than the annoyance of whenever the little shit is on screen it's pretty damn funny

It's been a really long time since I've seen this one.
Is there an extreme boob close up of the babysitter, or am I thinking of something else?
