Anyone who is familiar with Christopher Walken's SNL Blue Oyster Cult skit will probably get a kick out of this site.

Those, and people who are cow bell aficionados.

Great find Bubba. To be honest...I've always liked the cowbell even before the SNL skit. Sometimes it can give a song that little extra something.

I wouldn't say I was a fan, but before the skit my favorite part of "Stone Free" was the cowbell. I think because my girlfriend always said it was "cute".

This is just a funny thing -- but (and this was before the skit too) -- My ceiling fan, if not properlly rigged, shakes and makes a noise very, very similar to a cowbell. And it's on the low setting, it goes almost exactly in synch with "We're an American Band" -- I first noticed it sounded like a cowbell actually because of Don't Fear The Reaper. I was listening to it with the fan on, and the song ended - for a brief moment I was like, "Huh?" Then I realized it was the fan -- not too long after that, I had to fix it so it would stop with the noise, because I would always notice it, and couldn't pay attention to music. First I showed a dozen people the Ceiling Fan/Don't Fear The Reaper synch -- it didn't go over as well as the Wiz of Oz/Pink Floyd thing, but they all thought it was pretty funny.

So, the skit was especially funny for me, associating the cowbell with Reaper in that way.

I think it has to be the seminal cowbell song. Grand Funk is a close second.
