RADIOHEAD and THE DARKNESS have won IVOR NOVELLO awards at a ceremony today (May 27) in LONDON.

The ceremony honours British songwriters, composers and music publishers, and took place at London's Grosvenor House.

Radiohead picked up the award for International Achievement, while rockers The Darkness were also rewarded.

The main winners were:

Best song Musically And Lyrically – Will Young, ‘Leave Right Now’ (Hehe, my new 'mate' Will.)

Best Contemporary Song – Amy Winehouse, ‘Stronger Than Me’

Ivors Dance Award – Goldfrapp, ‘Strict Machine’

PRS Most Performed Work – Jamelia, ‘Superstar’

International Hit Of The Year – Dido, ‘White Flag’

Best Selling UK Single – Gary Jules, ‘Mad World’

Outstanding Song Collection - Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley, Lol Creme, Graham Gouldman

International Achievement - Radiohead

Outstanding Contribution To British Music - Errol Brown (Shit, now I too believe in MIRACLES :confused:)

Songwriters Of The Year - Justin Hawkins, Dan Hawkins, Frankie Poullain, Ed Graham

The Special International Award - Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier, Eddie Holland (Holland Dozier Holland)

Dido wangles her way in everywhere doesn't she. Not that I've got anything against her, she has done so well, I just personally don't GET HER, but hey well done.

Mad World has been played far too much if you ask me. It's on every bleeding thing you watch from Corrie to Tweenies. :p

Eroll Brown, is he still going. Bless him.

Jamelia, she has had a few awards for this song has she not? I actually quite like it, she has a catchy thing to her songs and you seem to be singing them before you know it.

Im not sure I know the Amy Whitehouse song.

I sure don't know Goldfrapp.

And I don't really listen to Radiohead.

So maybe im not the best person to comment here. Sorry BCV, though thought i'd give it a try.
