This is a near perfect horror flick. The cast is impeccable, the gore is heavy, and we are treated to some sweet prostetics with no help from CGI. Billy Zane is probably the highlight of the flick but he is somewhat absent from the entire middle section. The plot is mindnumbingly simple but very effective. In my opinion this is right up there with all the other survival horror movies like Evil Dead, and Night of the Living Dead.

I really like this movie too. It`s loads of campy horror fun. It takes a rather generic horror-movie story and gives it that EC Comics/"Tales From the Crypt" feel.
Good cast too.........though personally, Billy Zane got a little too silly & cheeky for me towards the end.
Soundtrack ain`t bad either.

Billy Zane,William Sadler, Jada Pinkett! Who could ask for more? I agree, brilliant casting is one of the things that make this film work! Plus, I found Demon Knight to be unique...if anything you have to admit it certainly was original. Great film, A personal fav' for sure! The idea of someone responsible, for keeping evil at bay. The last line of defense for humanity...against the forces of darkness! Heavy responsibility...

Demon Knight rocked. Great fun, great acting, great gore, great plot. Really, the idea was unique enough and it all panned out well. Probably Zane's best performance yet.

Another great aspect of this film is it is filmed to the brim with cool scenes.
"C'mon out everybody it's time to play!" *arrow in the eye* "or not"
and the "heads up!" scene is priceless.
This flick wins the award for highest replay value IMO.

this movie is fucking awesome. billy zane is the man, and the rest of the cast is solid as well. this movie is fun, entertaining, original, and gory.

I'm glad to see everyone on here so far loves this movie as much as I do. I remember having to defend this movie from all my friends comments when it first came out in theaters. Bordello of Blood though, I remember going into that with such high hopes and being very disappointed. But I think I was disappointed cause I was expecting it to be as cool as Demon Kinght. Bordello did have that great line when Dennis Miller said how he'd rather superglue his dick to a bullet train. And before I go Im ust agree with whoever said good soundtrack, one of the best soundtracks ever, has some of my fav. bands on there.

That was me! Yep, great stuff on the soundtrack - though most of the songs weren`t even in the movie.

absolutley loved this movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it definatly rates very high on the kick ass meter. it had everything, a great cast, great story, kick ass demons, a kick ass mythos, and lets not forget..BOOBIES!!!! hehehe:D
have a question though, did they end up making a comic book for the movie? i know that there was one in the movie itsself, but was there one ever actually published?
oh, i also made a replica of the Key in my highschool ceramics class bout 4 years ago or so. it was looking pretty bad ass, but then was stolen out of the kiln before my class, so i never got to see the finished product! and it was 2 days before the end of the year, so i couldnt make another one! i was sooooooooooooooo pissed!
ill stop now....

One of my favorite horror movies ever. Has some sweet gore scenes and Billy Zane's character The Collector was just plain cool. Along with the Evil Dead i could watch this over and over again and never get sick of it.

Kick ass movie, great effects, cool looking demons, Billy Zane...what the heck is not good about this movie?
In fact this movie is so cool, that its one of the few movies in which I actually enjoyed Jada Pinketts performance. Her character on this one is great.

Damn...are you thinking what im thinking!!!....That damn Billy Zane took it....we´re lost!!!
This movie was such a delight into Gory..Zombies...One liners..and Tits..that im getting hard just remembering that scene.
Billy Zane looks great in this part and William Sadler did very well his character as the lone ranger key guardian.
As this movie came out i bought a special STARLOG magazzine that centered just on the movie Demon Knight and all the Tales from the Crypt...Its a priceless piece that i have around all my EC comics, I also Bought a DEMON KNIGHT official theater poster and had it framed...and its right in my room´s wall right now....i just loved the film..and love the TFTC...I liked some stuff out of Bordello but it was not so good i have to admit it...I feel good about watching DEMON in the movie theater on its last day in its last run...we were so few people that i can Honestly say that i liked it more than anyone on the room....Long live the Crypt Keeper.

I think this falls into the category of a film that no horror fan really hates.
Yes Billy Zane kicks ass. But everyone else kicks ass as well. ]
Hey, uncle Willy!
Holyyyyyyyyyyyy shit!
This movie rocks my socks. I love the opening credits with Filter playing in the background. And we get to see the Crypt Keeper walk around!
"Hell on Earth? Big deal...I got 'roids..."
Universal needs to make a better DVD for this movie. I hear there was an alternate ending. And something about the Cryptkeeper firing an uzi(?). COME ON UNIVERSAL! -shakes fist-
Y'know, that's the second time I've typed that tonight. Universal's really pissing me off tonight...

Ah, yes! I have "Demon Knight" in my collection and it's one of my favorite horror-action flicks!! It just sucks that the DVD didn't come with any extras. I can only hope that the HBO guys get their heads out of the sand and put the entire series on seasonal box sets. Oh, by the way, just so you'd know, on the site below the show has gotten 674 votes from horror fans. We are ever closer to making this dream happen!

Here, here. Would LOVE the tales from the crypt box set. They could do amazing things with this; just hope they wouldn't name it outrageously expensive (yeah right)

It depends on whether or not each SEASON is on a box set.
