how so? i thought the climax, while not what i expected, was decent. of course having nobody (or 1 kid) survive would have been appropriate, but i think the idea of having the 2 survive only to have the society that turned on then go and fuck them again was pretty good.

overall, i just love this movie. dark, cynical, surreal, violent, etc. i like it so much i've got a poster and t-shirt to prove it. i just wish i had known that the special edition tin dvd was all region before i went out and bought the standard one. boohoohoo.

i actually have the novel and i've read the first 20 pages which are actually quite good. i've just got so much shit going on between school and work that i don't know when i'll get around to reading the other 595 pages...

When the teacher gets totally machine-gunned, lays there for a moment, and then gets up walks over to the couch, answers a cell phone, gets mad, throws the phone onto the floor, pulls out a gun and shoots the cell phone, then bends down and eats a cookie and tells the girl "Cookies sure were good.", and then passes on.

It was hilariously out of place with the rest of the film.

Then after the two escape, I just felt a different, corny vibe.

well, the way i thought about it, was that he was already dead emotionally and spiritually, so gunning him down really didn't make much of a difference.

Battle Royale is great, but nowhere near the best ever. I appreciated the balls-out approach it took, but like TheDeadWalk said the ending almost ruined it for me. It just felt really out of place. Everything else was perfect though.

i havent seen the movie yet, but i bought the 1st two issues of the comic book published by Tokyopop, and i must say that it is such a fucked up book! me likey :D cant wait to get the rest.

I loved the movie, but it doesn't have as much re-play value as other movies in my collection (but I love showing it to people who've never seen it or heard of it before).
