Hallow's End (2003)
I'm not too sure if there is another thread about this movie or not but I just picked it up a couple of days ago. I had never heard of the movie before but the combination of the dvd case (pictures and description on the back) and the tagline "Where shadows come alive" and a real low price was too much to resist. The movie itself was pretty good by no means a classic but you can do alot worse. The dvd has no shortage of extras including an "original ending" changed at the last minute before release.
The movie description is as follows:
It's Halloween in the sleepy town of Hallow's End and evil forces are about to inflict a scary surprise on 8 college co-eds and their Haunted House. Vampires, zombies and pirates are no longer just costumes, but killers that lurk behind every door, hall and tombstone. As victim by victim is found, the corpses pile up and only a few souls survive to battle the remaining evils in Hallow's End.

I'm just curious as to if anyone else has seen this movie and what their thoughts on it were.

Geez, what movie is that? It sounds great and completely unlike the poor excuse for a movie I saw...

Honestly, I rented it on whim...no, I take that back. I rented it because I wanted cheese but I ended up getting the whole damn cheese factory. Bad acting, bad script, same old plot, who are these new people that sneak into the haunted house?, the 'bad ass' guy was just plain bad and it was just dumb all around.

Can't say much because I've forgotten most of it (which is a good thing) but I do remember pointing out how the typical sex scene between a guy and a girl was cut short but then the lesbian love scene took up about half an hour. Please.

Also, there was something about a stupid book and then an evil pumpkin was pointed out but then quickly disregarded because it had nothing to do with anything.

Dumb, dumb movie. So dumb, it wasn't even unintentionally funny.

I'm glad I thwarted your opinion for I am such an opinion-thwarter. But yes, stay away from Hallow's End.

And I just remembered that as I was watching it with my dad (what? My dad rocks!), we were trying to figure out where in Canada it was filmed because it looked so bleakly Canadian. Turns out it was filmed in Texas somewhere...

I thought it was okay. There is ample sleaze, and the second half is a gas, but the first third i weighed down is so much crap that it becomes far too boring to be memorable. The lesbian scene was silly though.
