My friend got me onto this band a couple days ago and I haven't been able to take their album out of my CD player. Really amazing stuff. Put Godspeed You Black Emperor, early Muse, and The Smiths into a blender and you get this band. I'll be seeing them live in just over a week and I can't wait. Their live show is suppose to be excellent. Woohoo. I'd imagine so.

Anyone heard of them? They used to be known as Little Joe Gould, but changed their name to Murder By Death... named after the 70s flick.

Check 'em out!

I'm really falling in love with this band. Both are their albums are just fantastic. Can't wait until this Sunday. I'm seeing them live and trust me, I will report back!

Seriously, dudes, check this band out. Don't let the name put you off... it's completely mesmerizing, beautiful stuff.

And thanks, you can't go wrong with Thom ;)

Hes right, for a while the name put me off, sounded like some metal band not my normal thing but i was pleasently surprised with what I heard.

BTW have you seen the film with the same name, I assume thats were they got their name from, its an old comedy, I've only seen parts of it looked very cheesy.

Where you seeing them live ?

I'm seeing them at The Factory in Ft. Lauderdale. In the great state of Florida, that is.

Your description of the band got my taste buds a'tingling to hear what they sound like. I went to their web site and downloaded Killbot 2000 and I liked what I heard. I'm still piecing together what the song was about but this is a great song. I think I'll be picking up this album. Complex stuff.

Ohhhh bowieee, I know you'd dig them.

I just saw them tonight. Quite amazing. A small club, hotter-than- hell, average sound and not even ten feet away from the stage?

Is there anything better?!

Oh, and their cello player is very hot and actually ROCKS OUT while playing. Quite the sight.

They ended their set with 2 instrumental songs, both about 10 minutes in length and 'twas insane. One was Those Who Stayed, first track of their debut... and I was out of breath by the time it ended.

Check them out if you get a chance and you dig that type of music. I can only imagine what they can good in a club with good, you know... sound and what not.

If you like this band I suggest you try out Black Heart Procession, Ive not heard much by them but they're kinda similar, a good song by them is "its a crime I never told you about the diamonds in your eyes"

worth a try any way

I've seen the Black heart Procession live and it was a great show. Their from my hometown San Diego. I bought their album but it kind of got old to me after awhile. But if they come to a town near you definetly check them out. Live they were breathtaking.

Well it was a great show and I'm really glad I went Notch, thanks for the heads up on the band. Murder by Death really put all of themselves into their performance and tore the roof of the place. I also got to discover a band I really grew to like called Paris, Texas. They were sort of like a more positive vibed version of the stooges. Good stuff all around!

Murder By Death is an amazing band. I love the name of their newest album, Who Will Survive and What Will be Left of Them?, which is the tagline of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The story of that album would make a great horror movie. So there.

I've had Flaminco's f- easy on my hard drive for a while, but just picked up Like The Exorcist But With More Breakdancing, and am totally digging these guys.

It's also good to see black Heart Procession mentioned around here.

How does LTEBWMBreakdancing rank with MbD's other albums?

Murder By Death is awesome, I've seen them live 3 times and they've been amazing every single time.

Who Will Survive And What Will be Left Of Them?...is the better album and I love the idea of the concept. Devil terrorizing a small western town. "End Of The Line" is the perfect final song. And if you haven't seen Sarah their chelloist, you're in for a treat because well...

Shes' PRREEEEEEEEEEEEEETYYYYY!

She's really sweet too, she remembers my shoots the shit with me when they come to NY.

MBD is pretty frickin' sweet if you ask me.
