That's it I've decided to get on my soap box about The Mountain Goats.

Ugh I just noticed the thread title is sop box. Oops :)

I've been listening to the Mountain Goats pretty much nonstop for the past few days...Well with a break here and there for the mp3 games and the new Morrissey album but besides though it was almost nonstop. I decided just a few minutes ago that it was going to be my mission to get some more people into these guys. Well mostly one guy but he gets some incredible back up.
Imagine the fun of listening to aeroplane over the sea for the first time? That's what the mountain goats do with each album. They never miss, they always hit with quality music right on the bullseye. Well I can't convice you on my own so I know there are a couple of other schmoes out there who swear by these guys. Feel free to jump in and give your two cents

I'm only doing this for your own good. This maybe the finest band I've ever discovered since nuetral milk Hotel. With each week that goes by they climb higher up my ranks. Fucking amazing work.

He's telling the truth. The Mountain Goats are very worthy of investigation. Some of the finest story type songwriting i've ever heard...full of stunning observations and excellent often scathing lyrics.

It's their best work to date and grows on me more and more with each listen.
