Seriously, I dont think a schmoe here can say Catwoman will please.... anyone. Even though the film isn't in the same universe as batman (), people would obviously connect them. Do you think it will put a bad taste in people's mouths and make them pass on Nolan's film?

I don't believe so, because comic book movies seem to be the ongoing fad. They will be hyped and advertised separate in their own rights, and those that actually pay money to see Catwoman will probably get what they paid for and be content with it.

I don't think so. Catwoman will be awful, no doubt, but I think once people get word that it's nothing like Batman Begins, they will see Batman Begins.
And I wouldn't be surprised if Catwoman is crap, but not in a memorable way like Batman & Robin or Battlefield Earth, and will fade from the public's mind very fast.
At least, that's what I hope for...

dont' think so. the producers of catwoman are clearly saying that their movie have nothing at all to do with batman. not the same character, not the same city or universe. so basically no ties to batman. it won't fuck it up no matter how fucked up it will be

And don't forget there's a year of difference between both films. Time enough for the bad word of mouth to fade among so many bad films that will be released in between. Or enough for the 6 persons who see the film to forget it.
Also, I think Crapwoman will only be seen as a "bad superhero film" instead of a "bad close-to-Batman film".
Most definitely, I WISH I'm right.:(

The thing about comic book movies is the genre can be used as their excuse. If the movie sucks we just say "Oh, it was based on a comic book and that's why it sucked." If Catwoman is bad (and it will be) then viewers will chuckle, push it aside, and wait for the next comic book movie. thats my 2 cents.
