Summer time is to release movies that will make big bucks. Summer movies aren;t even supposed to be that good, just big with CGI music, puppets and lots and lots of action. I wouldn't consider Stepford Wives or Ferenheit 9/11 summer movies.

Most summer movies are lame-ass anyway, but there are gems, you just got to dig a little further.

Stepford Wives is getting awful reception from what I heard, though...

Early buzz says that THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK, ANCHORMAN, SPIDER-MAN 2 and COLLATERAL are all worth seeing.

Since the begining of the summer the only two movies I needed to see were Collateral and Anchorman, but you are right so far this is a "lame ass summer".

i think theres some to look forward to:

-Anchorman (hilarity with ferrell, what could be better?)
-Spidey2 (yeah!)
-Dodgeball (vince vaughn...stiller...DODGEBALL)

and my most anticipated:

-The Village (i mean cmon......who can honestly say they arent wondering what shyamalan is going to to pull out for this. I've been watching the trailer trying to figure out what the creatures are....AND...for that one scene with the kids standing with their backs to the forest....i swear m night has some kind of weird childhood thing goin on....i dunno)

I think that this summer is filled with great movies that are worth seeing.

Spiderman 2-I mean come on, it's Spiderman
The Terminal-Tom Hanks=Great movie
The Village-Another exciting M. Night film
Collateral-Tom Cruise is tha man
Shrek 2-Great film full of laughs
The Day After Tommorrow-Okay so it may not be great, but it looks fun
Around the World in 80 Days-I think this will be a good family movie
Anchorman-May be good but will make big bucks

I think this summer is packed with big, exciting, fun movies and I'm looking foward to a great summer at the theater.

i dunno about chronicles, i wasnt a big pitch black fan, or a big vin deisel fan for that matter

the village dose look good but i say that before i see any M Night movie and im always dissapointed, maybe i just need to see it before i hear all the hype.

and anchorman looks fuuny but i think ferral is better as a supporting charactor, i dont know it he can carry the whole movie by himself

I think this one will have a good ending, I think that Shyamalan's probably learned from his mistakes by now.

i'm not even sure that i would necessarily call them mistakes though, ya kno? i find shyamalan to be something that comes with time a bit more. for example, i did NOT like unbreakable the first time i saw it. but i viewed it a few weeks ago and was blown away by how good it was. his use of symbolism, with the colors and water and human struggle....its really sophistocated actually.

there seems to be a lot more to him than meets the eye.

yeah you guys, if M.Night did change the ending, watch for this film to be the sleeper hit of the summer. It looks fantastic

I don't think The Village could ever be considered a sleeper hit, even with some bad Internet buzz. Shyamalan's movies are highly anticipated events that get a huge marketing effort behind it.

chillipalmer

well regardless of whether it is a "sleeper hit" or not, im just excited to see what kind of cool stuff shyamalan throws in it this time....sorry if that bothers you..

Settle down dude. When did I say that bothered me? Little touchy are we? I only said that a Shyamalan movie could never be considered a sleeper. Chill.

Homophobic steriotype number one:rolleyes:

Summer movies are entertaining films, not thinking films(at least, Normally). Some of them are good, and do very well at the box office (Spidey 2), and some are not (Around the World in 80 Days.)
