What does everyone think about the method in which the USA Presidential election is held? I myself would favor a popular vote, as opposed to the Electoral College. What do you think, do you like it, or not?

Popular vote - yes!
Electoral college - NO!
Those are my thoughts on the matter. ;)

Can someone explain the term electoral college to me, and popular vote? I've looked into various methods of voting as part of constitutional law, but I've never heard of either of those systems. Perhaps its just something I know under another name...

Tis a messy matter, nephew, but here's a link that may explain it all.

Having read that, I'm going to opt for the popular vote as well. The electoral college seems unwieldy and confusing.
I know what popular vote is now, I've managed to equate it to a term we use over here ;) But it does seem a much better option.
When explaining, the Electoral College, that link should say "how stuff doesn't work." I hate the electoral college. It doesn't work properly and it negates many votes. We would have a different president now if the 2000 Election were based solely on popular vote. It would have been close, but we would have a decisive winner.

It's really hard, because with the current system, people like me, a Texas Democrat, don't really get a say, but if we went popular, then it would be...
1) much harder to campaign
2) would probably be detrimental to states w/ little population
So I really don't know. There would be problems either way.
