personally i like sleepaway camp more. dont get me wrong i love friday the 13th but i like sleepaway camp more. Angela Baker can take anyone. What do you think?

I`ll always love the "Friday" series, but "Sleepaway Camp" (the original I mean) has a few advantages IMO.

-Real teens, instead of thirty-year-olds playing teens.
-Shocking ending
-Weird psychosexual undertones (that scene with the little boy & girl on the bed pointing at each other is STILL creepy)
-Little kids get it!
-Kooky side characters (the pedophile cook and his 'Uncle Remus' assistant, for example)
-Unintentionally hilarious at times (though, to be fair, the "F13" movies are too).

if you are comparing the 1st SC and the 1st F13, then both are lousy and overrated, but if you're going to try and compare the franchises equally, no damn chance, F13 without a doubt... and even in SC's defense, they don't have enough entries to compete really, 11 F13s (adding FvJ) and 4 SCs....kind of bad comparison.

I never really did like The Sleepaway Camp movies, the first is okay, and the rest have WAY to cheese, and Angela's one liners are pretty horrbile, reminds me of Freddy's in Freddy's Revenge.:rolleyes:

It doesn't matter whether you're comparing just the originals or the franchises. Friday the 13th takes the cake. I enjoyed the Sleepaway Camp series, but I like F13 series more.

the whole concept of a boy that looks like a girl that kills people is quite stupid and makes Sleepaway Camp a lesser movie IMO.

I'm a big fan of both but it's Friday all the way. We have more slaying and slashing under our belts with that series, Jason makes the ultimate bad ass killer, sometimes there's comedy involved, some of the best deaths out there, and great music (for the most part)

Come to think of it, Sleepaway Camp boasts the same credentials, but still...I have a soft spot in my heart for Jason.

Angela vs. Jason...not to tought there. Friday the 13th easily for the simple fact that Jason would spend all of 3 seconds offing Angela. I loved the first Sleepaway Camp and hated the second. Friday the 13th is one of my favorite horror movies along with part 6 and 7 as well.

I liked the first SC better that the first F13. They're good series.

If Jason fought Angela and he was winning, my slasher would jump out and saw his head open and kick his ass till he gave up.

Yup, well Im going for...hmmm. Sleepaway Camp!!!!! Bothseries are unique in their own ways. ** Major Spoilers ** The thought of someone out in the woods waiting and watching is pretty creepy. But u could never imagine your own camp counselor being the killer. Even after the Happy Camper Song :) Both Jason and Angela have very creative ways of killing people. Its like they should be brother and sister :)

Personally I don't care for the Sleepaway Camp movies. The first one is like an R-rated version of the Bad News Bears. Though I have to admit the ending was totally freaky. The next two didn't work for me because with the killer as the main character, there's absolutely no suspense. The third one was probably my favorite, at least it had some interesting characters getting killed off.

i prefer the Friday films, i just find them to be much more entertaining than the Sleepaway camp films (although they too are very good)

You know she's a dude, right? That's like saying "that RuPaul is one sexy woman."

As entertaining as the Sleepaway Camp movies were, they're definitely second tier slasher films. Only the first even pretended to be scary. The rest were just comedies that starred relatives of real stars. If Angela came up to stab me I'd ask for her brother's autograph.

Hmm... if we are comparing the series as a whole then I would have to go with F13. There are just way more entries and JASON is a behemoth.
If we are comparing just the original entries then its a bit of a tough call. I like them both about evenly. They're each fun in their own respective ways.
Both series are great fun though.
