The Oblong Box features the first screen paring of Vincent Price and Christopher Lee. That alone should be enough to salivate over this feature. The movie is really good. A man from Africa holds the eternal secret of life after death as used on Edward, brother of Price’s character. He is unknowably buried alive and comes back from the dead wearing a sinister crimson red mask. Lee plays a wealthy doctor experimenting with dead bodies on the side. This film has a more sinister edge and the gore has been added to keep up with the times. I liked that the ending is a real downer. This film gets my seal of approval. What are the schmoe’s thoughts?

I was familiar with the title, but I had no idea that it starred both Lee and Price. The premise sounds acutely cool. I'll look into it ASAP.

Just a word to the wise Lee and Price share very little screen time together so you can’t see how they work off each other. The Oblong Box uses the kitchen sink approach, juggling four or five storylines with many characters but comes nicely together at the end. Next i’m off to watch Scream and Scream Again which features the holy trinity of horror stars; Lee, Price, and Cushing. Any thoughts on that movie? Thanks again to MGMs Midnite movies.

I have that same DVD with Oblong Box/Scream and Scream Again. They were both decent movies. Probably going to watch Oblong Box again because I don't remember much of what happens in it.
