View Full Version : Should we have stricter regulations on campaigning?

I say yes.

My ideal would be to allow people to do what they need to do to collect votes and get on the ballot. Once they are on the ballot, the campaigning would be founded by the federal government. Each candidate should be alloted equal budgets, and only allowed to spend within that amount. They may only enlist volunteers, so they could no longer hire telemarketers to do their work.

Then just keep taking it from there. I have no problem letting my tax dollars be used to support an election from the ground up.

I think this would help us diversify the candidacy and prevent shady politics.

What do you all think? This idea was a bit extreme, but do you think there should be looser, or tighter laws around the way these guys get themselves into office?
