I think Texas Rangers is going to surprise us and make more money than we think. Check out how many votes it has so far at yahoo.com, it's under the question What Movie Is Your First Choice To See This Weekend?

http://movies.yahoo.com/

And this Yahoo poll is usually pretty accurate, I use it all the time. Wouldn't that be something if Texas Rangers ended up being a surprise hit? I know I'd be surprised. It does have one of the top downloaded trailers on the net.

It's playing in only 400 screens.

I know it is, but it could still do decent for being on only 400 screens.

I read that to Mike but that doesn't mean anything.......it's poll for one thing and only 255 people voted......and since it's only on 400 screens, chances are it won't be playing in enough areas across the country for people to see it....

Yeah, but that poll is the one I usually use to help predict the weekend Box Office and it's usually pretty accurate. I don't think it will be a big hit but I think it might do decent this weekend for being on only 400 screens and not being advertised on TV at all. I think the main thing that will attract people is the cast, and if their were any fans of the movie American Outlaws they might see it too. And it's at 260 votes at the moment and that's pretty high for this movie, it has a bigger percent than some other movies that have been released and been hits. Anyway, I'm sure the movie won't be a big hit, but I still think it might surprise us a little. Hell, if it grossed over 1 million that would be pretty good since it hasn't been advertised on TV, it doesn't have good reviews, it's playing on only 400 screens, and westerns are a tough sell.

It'll open with $1 million. Then it'll disappear in two weeks. With all the big new releases coming up, it has absolutely no room to breathe.

I agree, it is a "Dead Movie Walking" and will quickly disappear as soon as LOTR's comes out.

The first time I ever saw anything about the movie was on this board. And I heard it was not screened for critics which usually means it sucks ass and the studio is trying to keep that a secret.

And how can you say it will be popular because 255 people voted for it. I would be embarrassed if only 255 people out of all the people with Internet access where the only ones to vote.

It will be crap.

Out......

From www.boxofficeguru.com (http://www.boxofficeguru.com)

In limited release, Miramax opened the long-delayed western Texas Rangers and grossed a pitiful $319,516. Playing in 402 theaters, the Dylan McDermott-James Van Der Beek film averaged an embarrassing $795 per venue.

Like I said above, crap!
