Tough one, Night or Dawn. I saw Night when I was 7 years at night by myself. It made a lasting impression on me

The original Night of the Living Dead is in my top five horror movies of all time. Everything a horror movie should be shocking, disturbing, atmospheric all rolled into one.

The original Dawn Of The Dead, although I think I might be the only person who likes the NOTLD remake better than the original.

take it now!

And then take two of them like yer old man!

:D

I voted for Dawn.

Night 90' got me into zombies first, scared the hell outta me, and really churned me into horror with the help of some other franchises... but as an adult I can say that I like to watch Dawn more.

Dawn of the Dead,

easily the most enjoyable of the three. I thought that it was funnier, had better charecters, and was actually entertaining. I think that Night of the Living Dead was alot scarier.

Gotta be Dawn, because it was one of the first horror movies that I saw that really grabbed my attention way back when I was a Fettpuppy! :)

I love the other three as well, though, even Savini's remake which I think was done with great respect and affection, and was just different enough to keep us George-o-philes happy! :)

Dawn , no doubt , it's the rare film that seems fresh and entertaining every time you watch it . Every time i check it out , i feel as if i'm witnessing the magic all over again for the very first time .

The nightmare world with apocalyptic implications is so intense and effective that i get caught up in the terror even if i know exactly what's going to happen , probably the best zombie / end of the world film ever created . Forget about that , prob the best apocalypse film ever made in any genre .

Have to say Night 90 is a close second , with Day right behind that , and the original Night coming in last , only because the character of Barbara was such a basket case , it somewhat ruins the film for me now , but it's still a classic , and it's still scary as hell with the creepy black and white cinematography .

What he said...

I hate to admit it but I had never seen any of them until 2 years ago on my Birthday when I rented all three and watched them back to back. What an awesome movie night that was! My brother who hates Horror movies watched them with me and when Day was over he was like "that's it, there isn't anymore of them" It won him over as well which is saying alot.

Ok well, it's hard to make a choice between those four films. NIGHT is a masterpiece of its time, DAWN is a masterpiece of all time , the remake of NIGHT is the best remake ever made (whatever the genre is) but I must admit that DAY is the one that impressed me the most. Everything's great in this film. The acting, the direction, the SPFX, the story, the dialogues, the zombies, the location...Even if DAWN is forever in my heart, DAY still rules !!

NOTLD didn't really appeal to me, B&W horror in general doesn't appeal to me. It doesn't give that feeling that "It could happen" like colorfilms do.Dawn was very cool, but Day was just as cool PLUS we get a couple of (small, but they're there) explanations.I haven't seen the NOTLD remake so I won't comment on that one.

Im glad someone else liked the remake over the original, i thought for sure that me and DD were the only ones on the planet to do so.

I feel like the remake took advantage of many missed oppurtunities that the original never even tried to grasp at.

Hands down my favorite zombie movie is Day of the Dead. It has the best characters and the sickest zombies. Captain Rhodes is a bonafide coolass lunatic, Dr. Logan is the consumate mad scientist, Steele is a party animal, and Bub is the fucking coolest zombie ever! The make-up FX are by far the best in the series with literally hundreds of unique and disgusting zombies and the goriest most effective kills ever to grace the screen.

Check out my review. (http://www2.joblo.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=85556)

I actually liked Day of the Dead the most cuz it created a sense of claustrophobia, the characters were classic, and hands down Bub is the greatest zombie to ever be on screen, and Dr. Logan is probably one of the craziest scientists i've seen.
Basically the whole movie is good, the gore fantastic, and the feel to the movie is great

Both Nights are good. Despite the move to color, Savini's version managed to retain the stark images of the first. I'll give the edge to the original for atmosphere, but it's really close.

Dawn comes in a lot lower. It was kind of entertaining.

Day and Land both sucked. I don't know which to put lower.

Night Of The Living Dead (1968) - (9/10) <--- Got my vote
Dawn Of The Dead (1978) - (7/10)
Day Of The Dead (1985) - (1/10)
Night Of The Living Dead (1990) - (8/10)
Dawn Of The Dead (2004) - (7/10)
Land Of The Dead (2005) - (N/A)

All great films, except Day of the Dead. That is one of the worst zombie movies ever made. Right up there with the Resident Evil films.

NIGHT
DAY
DAWN
LAND

I love them all!!!!!! Night is just such a great movie. Dawn, is great as well, but it is a little corny at times, I have admit, but so fucking fun to watch.
Day, my second fav, is the most well put togther film of the trilogy. It was better on every scale. and Land just owned all kinds of ass!

Dawn, although Night's really good too, and Day's always worth a watch. However, I just think Dawn's the most fun, and it's also the best for zombie munching action.

I voted for Dawn of the Dead, but I was extremely close to choosing Day of the Dead. I think Day of the Dead has the best gore, but Dawn of the Dead won because the slow dialogue in Day of Dead slows it down too much in my opinion.

The gore of Day of the Dead is the best though.

Day of the Dead

None of the silly humor that was in Dawn, better effects, better acting, feels like a documentary about living in an undead world.

more realisme than in the rest of the series...

I love the original Night of the Living Dead '68, but the 90's remake was just as if not a little better. One of the VERY FEW remakes I actually liked more than the original. But I had to vote for the 90's remake, Tony Todd is horror's version of Samuel L. Jackson (He's A BAD MOTHER F*CKER).

This was actually a tough question for me as I really do love Romero's zombie movies as they are the blue print to the Zombie world. The bleaker, the better for me as there is just more atmosphere and tension in those ones usually, so I have to go with Day Of The Dead, although I enjoy all of them including Land Of The Dead. The remake of NOTLD was awesome in the fact that Tom Savini really added something new to the original story, really nice, although I still appreciate the original more for what it is!

I must be in the absolute minority here but I think DAY OF THE DEAD is the best in the series and Dawn of the Dead is the worst. Needless to say I voted DAY. I like the other four including both remakes. By the way I don't consider Contagium to actually be apart of the series and am looking forward to Diary of the Dead. It looks like I'm in the majority with Dawn of the Dead.

To me, it's Romero's zombie masterpiece. It is the definitive zombie movie and still to this day is a huge influence (e.g. the remake, Shaun of the Dead, the video game Dead Rising, other zombie flicks, etc.).

Not to discredit the other two movies because they're still some of my favorites.
