Neither; my favorite old-school Dracula film is Universal's DRACULA'S DAUGHTER, a much more effective and atmospheric film than its stiff and stilted predecessor.

Bela Lugosi’s turn as the Count in Tod Browning’s Dracula is my favorite. You just go wrong with that movie.

Spanish version of Dracula (***1/2)
the movie is better than lugosi's dracula (***)
if he was in the spanish version it would be 4 stars

As a film, Horror of Dracula is my all time favorite Dracula movie. However, I still have a place in my heart for Lugosi's Count, who was one of the first movie monsters to scare me as a kid.
The spanish Dracula, as some have pointed out, does have some better camera angles than the Lugosi film, but, as others have also pointed out, the lack of Lugosi keeps the film from enjoying the same classic status(with respect to the actor who played the Count in that film).

With out a doubt Horror of Dracula. Bela Lugosis version though atmospheric and iconic is way to slow and not very well acted.

Horror of Dracula, but I haven't seen any of Universal's Drac sequels.

Prince Of Darkness has been my favorite of the Hammer Dracula flicks so far - but I've only seen It and Horror..

Not hooked yet.. :)

I refuse to be one of those people who vote and haven't seen them both (haven't seen Horror of Dracula) I can't wait to see it though, but it has to be pretty damn good for it to beat the OG. On a personal note my favorite Dracula is Nosferatu, that movie scared the crap out of me when I saw it years ago and it's been one of my favs. ever since.

Between those 2, can't deny Lugosi! But fave Dracula of all, for some reason, is Scars of Dracula ('71).

Horror of Dracula. Bela may have been the right nationality and such, but the presence of Cushing enhanced 'Horror' to the max.

Actually I haven`t seen the Lugosi one in quite some time now and am going to see Horror of Dracula soon hopefully, so can`t vote, but at the moment I think Nosferatu, because that just was one hell of a good horror movie.

Dracula ( Horror Of Dracula ) Christopher Lee is the definitive Count and Peter Cushing is just the best Van Helsing ever ( sorry Mr Jackman ) ;)

Horror of Dracula

and

Dracula: Prince of Darkness.

Dare I say, I liked PoD more, however, the Count doesn't get ANY lines whatsoever, due to the bloody script writer's incompetence regarding Dracula's dialogue.

Love them both, but love HORROR more.

If you want a good vampire movie, all you need is the original...

See I voted for Horror out of the two but to be honest the REAL Dracula is Nosferatu and I hope he kills Anne Rice one day for turning him into a moaning goth ;)

I liked the Hammer Dracula way better than Universal's Dracula. Maybe, the Universal one was too dated, but I always found that the weakest of Universal's classics.

Personally I like Brides of Dracula best of any Vampire movie.

It is moody, brooding, sexy. I love the Baron Meinster. I love Yvonne Monlaur - God she was sexy and smoldering but still cute and innocent with the accent.

It is doesn't have Lee and so what? It works without him.

So says me.

I had to pick the Universal version just because of Lugosi. Christopher Lee is fantastic but Lugosi set the standard for the role.
