Tweek didn't ask what the difference was between Democrats and Republicans, lets leave the useless political parties out of this. Just another thing to divide us. We should all be registered independants. I love how we're in this frum now just discussing the issues. Each of us vary from issue to issue. This is very enjoyable for me.

Hey, Slaw instead of telling me what I posted wrong, why don't you post what you think is correct.

No one was replying to this thread and I was trying to get it some replies, because I thought it was a neat thing. I actually had like a really lengthy resposne about CONSERVATIVES AND LIBERALS written, but went back and made it shorter. In doing so, I ACCIDENTALLY typed in what I typed in. It was a mistake.

Then, I saw someone had actually responded, and got pretty excited, because, like I said, I thought this was a neat topic.

Instead, I find this:

I'm not sure what you mean by leave political parties out of this, but this is a political forum, and politics are generally assocated with one of two parties.

And sorry, but one big difference between liberals and conservatives IS the political party difference.

Also - the list I was compiling was meant to be jsut that -- a list. Just some things I see different.

Anyway, like I meant to say earlier -

LIBERAL - CONSERVATIVE

For group rights - For individual rights

Higher taxes on businesses - lower taxes on businesses

more likely democrats - more likely repubulican

One other thing I was thinking of, breaking it down more, liberals are more for change, and conservative are more for tradition, or establishment.

Ok then, glad it was fixed.

Hold on a sec, I was only giving my point of view on political parties. Wasn't any kind of an attack on what you were saying. It's probably true about the association with the parties, but I didn't think it was entirely relevant when he just asked about definitions on Liberalism and Conservatism. I however didn't respond to that either. :D

One thing that sucks about being registered Independent is that, here in Florida, you can't vote in primaries. That really ate at me this year, because I don't like Kerry. I know he would have won regardless, but I wanted to get a voice in. My registration didn't make it through in time for me to switch, but there's always next time around.

That's terrible. Well, I guess you'll have to join the institutions and labels the government provides for you. Such bullshit, really. The people choose the leaders, not the political parties.
