Whats your favorite climax to a Halloween movie?
The second Halloween's is the first that comes into my mind. There is NO WAY he could have survived that. I mean, Kentucky Fried Chicken can't be as dead as he was at that moment. Great stuff.

H20 with Laurie Strode slicing off Michael's head! It would have been the PERFECT way of the ending the franchising if they hadn't butchored it by making another movie.

The original one beats all, but a close second is #4, proving through a different way that the terror isn't over.

Part 4 had the best, and a very honorable mentioning would be Part 2.

1 and 3 are the best IMO, all of the others seemed as though they ran out of ideas

I don't get what is so great about the ending of Part 4. The twist at the end comes completely out of nowhere! I thought it was actually kinda silly too.

Hmmmmm.... tough one. For some lackluster sequels, there have been some surprisingly good endings. I would probably rate them thusly:

1. Halloween
2. Halloween 4
3. Halloween II
4. H20
5. Halloween 6
6. Halloween 5
7. Halloween: Resurrection

Oddly enough that's how I'd rate the movies as a whole - with the possible exception of Part 5 and Resurrection being tied for last place.

DEFINITELY the end of part 2, where Lori is in the parking lot, crawling around, wanting to yell for help. Suspenseful!

"H20". The last shot was the best damn scene in the movie.

Followed by #4.

Halloween - It tops them all definately. Simple yet chilling.

Halloween H20 - Ahh, the would-be perfect end to the franchise. Twenty years of cat-and-mouse finally coming to one climactic end. ...Then came Resurrection

I wholeheartedly agree with you ilovemovies. It would have been the best way to end the series. I'll always consider Halloween to be a trilogy. Parts 1, 2, and H20.

FUCK YEAH! I jumped out of my seat, i was in utter shock! "They really had the balls to kill him off!" was all i could think at the time! I left the theatre in a daze and went home to rewatch the original Halloween, seeing as i was sure the franchise was over, and had gone out with a stellar final.

..but i was, sadly, so very wrong...:(

Really? I thought it was extremely lame.
Loomis goes back into the building........then we hear him screaming offscreen.
Goodbye Loomis.

Wow, what a disrespectful way to end Loomis` prescence in the series, after all that he`d been through.:(

well he died in real life so they had to do it that way instead of having him get butchered on screen...
i mean hell he'd been stabbed to the point where he should've died plus the hospital scene in 2...

Well I know, but they could`ve done something just a little more tactful.

I'm not a fan of Halloween but I admit that Halloween 4 is quality. And the climax to that entry was awesome. The entire roof sequence was excellent.

HALLOWEEN (Can't nobody beat that ending!!!) and then HALLOWEEN 3 (Sorry to those peeps who dislike this film but the thought of ALL the kids having worms and snakes plunge out of their heads whilst watching tv sends a shiver down my spine, whilst making me smile. He he!!)

The conclusion of "The Curse of Michael Myers" has always been a favorite of mine. Although the movie stunk, I loved they way it ended with Pleasence watching as Rudd and company drove away and then you hear him screaming off camera. Of course, Donald Pleasence died in the course of this installment's creation, and I thought they did a good job of letting the audience realize that Michael Myers finally got his man.

Horrible movie with a decent ending.

It's interesting how some peeps absolutely despise this ending, whilst some dig it. I myself, wasn't 'overwhelmed' by it at all. In fact, I was rather confused. It left me feeling like it was a rushed conclusion and that was confirmed when I realised DONALD PLEASANCE had died just before the end of filming.

I will check it out again to see if my opinion changes.

The originals climax just is unforgettable, it cant be topped or duplicated! I had seen it in the theater, and will never forget the overall impact it had on me. Halloween was unlike anything that I had seen at the time, and the ending was very fucking unsettling. The moral: You cant kill pure evil...

Or as the old preacher said in Halloween 4: "You cant kill damnation, It doesnt die like an ordinary man."

The ending to the original was the best but close behind was H6. I loved both of these endings but the original will always hold a special place with me.

H20, but it is sad that they had to fuck up the franchise with Resurection. H20 had the perfect ending due to the fact that they actually KILL Michael (or so we thought). Damn movie companies.

I don't consider what happened to him in Halloween 2 the defining death, though. If it isn't a decap for the villian, I'll never be happy....because I love decaps...

It's defining as possible - he essentially explodes along with Loomis. When Season of the Witch flopped and Moustapha Akkad wanted the "series staples" back, they essentially show up with little explanation. In the original Halloween 4 script, there's a prologue scene that explains their survival, but apparently it wasn't filmed because of budget concerns.

Halloween 6: Producers-Cut had no Climax, he was not supposedly killed in it. He walked awat from it all.

Halloween II where he was blown up, he was on fire, they fire-trucks were already there, How did Freddy survive the explosion where he was blown up by his daughter with that dinomite? We don't know.

In Halloween 4 they shot him, The Thorn makes him stronger and they were heading into that plot, Him getting shot was nothing compared to the power he is getting ready to generate.

I think the first five entries had decent endings. Even the Revenge of Michael Myers, while not one of the best in the series, had a decent ending with the Man in Black going on his rampage. Season of the Witch with its cliffhanger "Are all the children going to die?" although a bit out there is still pretty cool. Michael's rooftop stalk sequence in RETURN is as good as anything in this series. Laurie crawling around on the parking lot gets you really into it in Part 2. Of course the original with Michael suddenly disappearing and cuing the classic theme is ace too. And even though I didn't enjoy H20 as a whole the thought of having Michael decapitated would have been awesome... would have... Tough to choose really. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.
