BLOODY DARK FURY ADVERTS!

My first rant. w00t.

You must have noticed how the ads for that cartoon spin-off of Riddick, "The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury" have popped up all over the forums. They really fuck up the formatting and I have to scroll down half a page to get to the thread i wanted to!

And then...when I click "Back," I'm down at the bottom of the fucking page. wtf? I'm all for movies being advertised on sites, but does it have to be so fucking annoying?????? :mad:

Edit: I've just noticed that there's even one on this page...go figure...

Just noticed. Totally agree. It's okay you stupid studios! I've seen the damn movie already! Don't bombard me with damn, fuckin' pop-up!!

You can't block advertising banners, I don't think.

And yes, they are really pissing me off. Why are they so damned big?

I have a program which blocks all banner ads. It's separate from IE, and activates when you open IE up.

It's a good system mod. It also blocks pop-ups too. Best blocker ever. I'll see if I can find it.

I noticed them big time last night. Its the really long vertical ones that are annoying, but I havent seen those today. I sat at one of the pages for about a minute, waiting for it to load, before I realised that it had already loaded, and I just needed to scroll down. Then I clicked on the banner (that puts like 1/20th of a cent in JoBlos pocket) and the movie looks cool as shit! Then I preordered the DVD. Animation by Peter Chung, I'm there.

Nice rant, but this was actually an ERROR/MISTAKE in the programming of the ads.

The 120x600 sized ads were mistakingly placed in the area where the 728x90 ads should have been, leading to the aforementioned formatting issues. I noticed this late last night and emailed our AD NETWORK folk who seem to have taken care of the problem at this point.

The next time you notice something THAT ANNOYING or STRANGE about our ads, feel free to email me directly since it likely is a problem, and not necessarily a money-grubbing scheme on the studio's part. You also shouldn't be getting ANY POP-UP ADS whatsoever on our board, so if you are, it's likely a SPYWARE issue on your computer's end. See SPYWARE thread in SITE SUGGESTIONS forum for more on that.

PS: I'm curious to see the DARK FURY DVD myself actually...it apparently gaps the story between PITCH BLACK and THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK.
