I know there's already a poll on Kerry vs. Bush... but I'm curious who you guys THINK will win, not who you WANT to win. Issues don't even need to be discussed here. Just vote your honest gut instinct on who you think our next president will be. Unfortunatley there are only two choices in this poll, because thats the reality we live in.
I'm guessing Kerry, because where I live, it's a very liberal area, and damned near everyone I know is anti-Bush. With all of the bad press on Bush, and his approval ratings dropping, I just don't see him taking office for another term. (one can only hope....)

It's interesting to note that every president who won the electoral vote, but not the popular vote, as in Bush's case, only lasted President one term. Granted it only happened 4 times total (including Bush), but hopefully history will repeat itself a fourth time. The other three presidents were John Quincy Adams in 1824, Rutherford B. Hayes in 1876, and Benjamin Harrison in 1888. So, it was the first time in over a hundred years that it happened, but it's still an interesting piece of triva and hopefully, like I said, happen again.

There's a lot of anti-Bush sentiments in the nation right now, but I feel like Bush will probably stay in office. Don't know exactly why, but to really get him out, I think he'd need a better opponent than Kerry

Ben Harrison keeled over during the first 3 months of office from a head cold.
But it's still a hardcore theory.

What's even more ironic, though, about John Quincy Adams other than what I said above about the electoral/popular vote thing, is that he was also the only other former president's son to become president himself, like Bush, and Adams lasted one term. Hmm....interesting... ;)

Actually, it was Ben's grandfather William Henry Harrison who died within three months of assuming office. Ben Harrison ran again in 1892 but was defeated by Democrat Grover Cleveland. Not that it matters though.
Kerry will definitely win the popular vote, I think, but I'm just not sure he can carry enough states to win the electoral college. If he can hold on to most of Gore's states and pick up Ohio, Missouri and/or Florida though, he can do it.

From how it looks right now, I think Kerry will squeeze by with a close victory. Anything could happen in the next four months though, and the running mate Kerry chooses will certainly be a factor IMO.
I think Bush will win. This country is out of its mind. I love it though.

Bush's time is up. I think that people have grown weary of this administration, and I also suspect that Fahrenheit 9/11 will have some effect on the election. Unfortunately, most radical conservatives already have their minds made up. They refuse to budge. My mom has already settled on Bush, and she hasn't even researched Kerry's platform. Get this – she's for gay marriage! ??!?!!?!
I'm fucking surrounded by these people.

I want Kerry to win. But since Bush ends up being elected even if he loses, I think he will find some way to stay right where he is.
Let's hope I am wrong.
