You brainless, airheaded, Clueless bitch! I fucking hate that remark. Its too easy to say a movie was stupid for your defence.
It normally comes from females who just don't know how to express why they didn't like something, on top of things they don't know when to say something was stupid.
Example:
Saying Army of Darkness was stupid doesn't make sense. It was ment to be chessey and stupid. Your not cutting it down by saying what people already knew.
I know not everyone has to like something but at lest have a vaild point as to why, besides "because it was stupid.".

LOL DIZ RANT IZ LAEM N STOOPED.
Yes, I agree. People should come up with a better reason to hate a movie other than "LOL IT WAS RITARTED AND LAEM".
Usually when women pull that it is easier for them to say that it was stupid than to admit that the movie might make them think. Women dont want to think to much about a movie they would rather base thier opinion of the movie on feelings than thinking. Thats why they have chick flicks

Are you trying to get yourself flamed beyond recognition?

Well, I dont know about the rest of you but I sure feel enlightened now. I always wondered why chick flicks existed. Thank you tc1, where would we be without you! Please don't keep that vast knowledge bottled up, keep those posts coming.

Ah, so that's why I didn't understand Garfield: The Movie.
But hey, at least I know the value of apostrophes and punctuation! Sha-ZAM!

I hate sexism.
Say hello to the Ban Button when Jo gets here.
I hope I dont open my mouth to change feet this time. If I pissed any one off which I obviously did my apologies. I shouldn't have spouted off on this subject after making the mistake of going out with someone that I had to explain the opening credits to. My apologies once again.

My rant wasn't meant to single out females. My male freinds who hate a movie simply say, "...because it sucked.". It's the same thing.

I got this reaction when showing AMERICAN BEAUTY to a couple "sorta" friends (it's complicated, their parents are friends of my parents so i go over to their houses once in a while)
"Like, ewww, that was such a stupid movie."
They (three girls) basically "ewwed" their way through the entire movie. And this other guy was not much better. And they kept going, I don't get it. I don't get it.
Then again, they are all younger than me, but two of them are only 1 year younger. I would've expected more maturity than "EWWWWWW" everytime something happened even remotely related to sex. maybe i'll try showing them a movie rated over PG in a couple years.
Then again, they thought REQUIEM FOR A DREAM kicked mighty ass (though the one girl who was the least mature wasn't there). So wtf? lol.
Would it help if I said I was a abused child. But I guess you already figured that.

Well now women DO do this from time to time but men can be idiots too you know. Like my friends for example, they all think that Pulp Fiction is boring and stupid and lame and whatnot(and all you have to do is look just to the left to see me thoughts on that). This of course coming from people that think The Fast and The Furious is a cinematic masterpiece. But anyway, I absolutely hate it when people (man or woman) do things like that with out having anything to back it up.

Another story involving a Quentin Tarantino movie and immature friends (this might take the award for "stupidest friend-movie related incident on this thread"). We had just popped in Reservoir Dogs and althought they seemed to refuse to stay silent (one of them hadn't seen the others in about several years so their chatty behaviour was understandable but still rude) they eventually simered down. Until the opening credits showed up and Mr. Pink narrated his theory on how the song "like a virgin" was a metaphor for big dicks. They were talking incessently but at one of the moments they stopped the heard the word "big dicks". They immediately porceeded to freak out, saying nonsense like "this movie's all about big dicks!" (I'm paraphrasing since this happended nearly a year ago but that was the jist of their complaint). They wouldn't stop until I managed to calm them down by playing Pulp Fiction instead (thank god their was no similar speech at the begining to that film as well). To this day, I still look back and think to myself: "christ, what a buncha' immature morons!"
I had a similiar problem when I saw Resevoir Dogs (won't say who with) . They kept whining about the language and couldn't get past that to see the movie for what it was.

A movie about a bunch of guys cussing and shooting each other.
Don't worry I'm not making fun of you. It's my favorite movie of all time.

Thats pretty much what I heard for the next two weeks. Pulp Fiction went a little better until Ving Rhames got raped in the backroom by the rednecks. Then I got to hear them complain about a movie with a bunch of guys cussing, shooting, and raping each other.

Oh, I've got one that tops it all.
I was sitting in my ROTC classroom after school, showing Monty Python and the Holy Grail to some cadets waiting for their rides to come get them.
It comes to the point with the Black Knight. I know what you're thinking, a guy getting his limbs chopped off is pretty much grounds for turning off the movie.
But no. Some girl made us turn it off after the Black Knight pokes his sword through the guys helmet, causing orangish ketchupy blood to emit thereforth. She freaked out about "the gore".
I'm glad high school is four years done. The farther I walk away from it, the happier I get.
I wonder after reading that last post if people are getting too sensitive about violence. People whine that we are getting desensitized but now I am convinced its the other way around. Example in my Psychology class this quarter a mother said she refuses to let her children watch Charlie Brown cartoons on tv because they are too violent.

true story...
I was watching Risky Business with some chick a few weeks ago and she is one of those people who just can't stop talking through a movie. She knows I hate it and continues to do it anyway with the usual "Oh I'm sorry sweety" crap
anyway...she really did not like Rebecca's character of the call girl and complained the whole movie about how she hated her and she was mean and was playing this guy and she started to get mad...and when I say mad I mean she was hitting things and got up and stormed out of the room...this chick got violent because she hated this character and she never even saw the end and got to see how the girl turned out
that may not sound like anything special but I guess it's one of those "you had to be there" moments...it was nuts

Many of my fellow gals think I'm weird for not liking chick flicks. But most of them are the same. Girl gets hurt by guy, she and her other girlfriends have a pajama party and dance around to a 60s song, girl finds another guy, but the old guy wants her back. So for the next hour of the movie she's waffling back and forth between both men while her friends are acting like catty bitches because they can't even get the old man down the street to say hi to them. That's not what I call entertainment.

Personally, I am all for 'non chick flicks'. I have nothing against the tamer flicks, but over-sachrine is just too much and results in me getting cavities.

Tell me about it. How many more hugging/crying/happy ending marathons can we have? A friend of mine came over one weekend, and, me being the horror nut I am (but also other films, of course) I hadn't really sampled her...ah, chick flicks. Of course she thinks Drew Barrymore and Orlando Bloom are the best actors on the planet, and proceeds to have us watch - in a row - Riding in the backseat with Boys, Never been kissed, Kate & Leopald, and A Walk to Remember. At once...together...IN ONE DAY!!! Argh

Well, when he goes to kick the football and Lucy pulls it away, making him land on his ass... that's some pretty serious pain there.
